Lush and convenient service apartments
Very central location, which means a lot of steps to access the property itself. 10 minutes stroll to Edinburgh Castle at the most, with a plethora of restaurants to choose from. Rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable, lighting panels took a while in getting used to, but rather friendly.

Uncomfortable and musty
The townhome is located in a close (alley) which has people walking at all hours. Someone actually opened the shutters of the ground floor bedroom at 2am...scary! Also, The townhome is situated on 3 levels...the master is downstairs and very dark and dank. The ground floor up to the second floor had a bad, damp, moldy smell. The best area was ok the third floor..very cool vibe. However, that was applied by how uncomfortable the layout is and that awful smell. I realize the building is very old. It an air purifier of some sort would be very beneficial...especially at the price pot of this hotel. Also, there was no help with our bags. The girl who checked us in had no clue where our room was and took us on a wild goose chase in and out of hallways and walkways....we are a family of four and had a lot of luggage so this was not fun at all. I would not stay at old town chamber again, quite honesty. For the price point, I was able to spend just a bit more and got a room at the balmoral a short walk away.

Perfect for family of 5
Location is prime! Right in the heart of Old Town, right above Mary King's Close and across from St. Gile's Cathedral. Our room was perfect for our family of 5 as it was modern, clean, spacious and comfortable. The washer /dryer was a nice touch. It was a great home base while we jet-toured the city. The only issue we had was a purposefully loud group of revelers shouting chants along the streets about waking up at 3 am...not the hotel's fault, but perhaps a random event? I will, however, recommend this location to friends in the future.
