The hotel is clean and luxurious, has fantastic view of the city, next to a large mall. Room is large, has an office area with printer. Bathroom is also large with shower and tub. Very nice room complete with bathrobs and slippers.

If you need to stay in Taoyuan, then stay here.
We stayed for 3 nights. The only complaint I have is the breakfast buffet choices and quality are not even close to good as the Novatel Taoyuan Aiport hotel. But compared to the location, the Monarch hotel is much better. The cost for a taxi or shuttle to the airport is around 240nt to Terminal 1 or 300nt to Terminal 2. Their japanese restaurant Tsubusa was pretty good. Their sukiyaki was quite large in comparison to America. Our dinner cost under $100usd and that is considered a lot in Taiwan, but compared to where we live it would cost at least twice that much with tip. So all in all, it was good value to us. The breakfast buffet is the only item I would ask them to improve. 1) some of the items seemed to be leftovers from previous days; 2) some of the items are cold when they are suppose to be hot; 3) even the made to order omelettes are not made how you request it. Because of this, I took 1 star away.
