Good 6.0
Our family of 5 stayed at Snowshoe's Mountain Lodge for a ski weekend. Our friends stayed a few doors down the hall, so we had the chance to see two different rooms. The good: the location is very good, right at the edge of Snowshoe's Village, with easy access to the Ballhooter lift. There is a parking lot for Mountain Lodge guests adjacent to the building, making it easy to get in and out. Both of our units were recently renovated and were clean, so our stay was relatively comfortable. The bad (check-in/out): unfortunately, there is a lot to improve at Mountain Lodge. Check in had to be done at Allegheny Springs, which led to some confusion when we arrived. The parking lot attendant was drunk and said that we needed to have our $#&! out of his lot by 11:00 AM on the day of checkout. (Inconvenient since we skied that day; we had to move the car to the Top of the World parking lot, a half-mile away.) The bad (condition): Mountain Lodge is dated. The shared facilities show their age. It is clean and the numerous sitting areas have decent furniture (great for a friend with a twisted knee), but the building feels like a college dorm. Each room is owned and maintained separately, so furnishings and decor are inconsistent. And unfortunately, the infrastructure is aged. Temperature control in the rooms is bad and noise from the hallways is very loud at night. Even the renovations feel like "lipstick on a pig." Overall: There are much nicer places to stay at Snowshoe.

The place was just a bit old but we like the small and cozy place it was our first time up there and the family had a great time we will recommend it to rest of the family.

Needs Some Work
Our stay here was marked with mediocrity. The bathrooms and kitchen were kind of dirty. The cleaning rag was left on the kitchen counter at check in. It was something that made my stomach turn when I went to move it...it was stiff. The furniture was okay. A few accent chairs were thrown in from the 70s, where they should've been left. The lodge overall needs updates, it is tired. But, from what I hear, it sounds like that is the way things are moving. I hope this is the case, the location is great.

White Christmas Family Get away trip.
Good privately owned rooms. Well furnished and completely like at home. There is no regular hotel service so don't expect anyone to clean the room daily. Very good location with our room has the Slope view. Convenient location just walking distance to Restaurants and other facilities.

Exceptional 10.0
The room was nicer than what some reviews had stated. Our unit had an updated kitchen. The bedroom.still had an old box TV but we weren't on the room that much since we were there for the slopes.

Great location at Snow Shoe Village. Walked right out and onto the slopes plus short walk to all restaurants and shops. Mountain Lodge is an older run down property. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, complete with a kitchen which was convenient but it definitely needs updating. The first room they gave us had water dripping in living room and master bedroom windows that was turning into ice on the inside of the windows and on the ledges. Didn't have this problem in new room but our internet didn't work so they told us to use another room's log in?? Not sure that's a good idea. We got lucky with the weather and the skiing was fantastic! I would consider staying with Mountain Lodge again, rates are lower than most accommodations at Snow Shoe but still not cheap and definitely needs a facelift.

Older Building but Convenient and Affordable
Probably one of the original buildings at Snowshoe. Only one set of elevators at one end so getting to the room with luggage is a hike. All units are individually owned condos. Ours hadn’t been renovated in a while but I’m told others have. There is no AC in the building we left the heat off in our room and the window open but even with outside temps in the 30’s we slept under just a sheet. On the plus side. Parking was convenient, the slopes were right outside the back door and the village was only a short walk. All in all not bad but next time will look at other options at Snowshoe.
