The Lovina

It is a rather quiet place and will be suitable for people who are looking for a peaceful area to chill and enjoy the beach. The staff were really accommodating and friendly.

There was some insect bites on me the next morning. Mattress was a little hard. Air con was not very cold. But the pool and beach are very near and nice.

Stayed two nights in Feb 2014. Hotel provides good buffet breakfast and satisfactory service at Reception, Restaurant and Housekeeping. Hotel location is not within walking distance to main road but complimentary transport is provided to areas in its vicinity. It is a beachfront property and one side of it faces a large padi field. The surrounding is peaceful and quiet, but there isn't much to do except relax and enjoy the sea and sun.

We booked a Mountain View room which was on the 2nd floor of The Lovina's rice-field facing block. For guests who prefer having a seaview, they would need to book rooms in the block facing the beach. The grounds of the hotel were beautifully landscaped and looked after. Our room was tastefully furnished and the bathroom amenities complete and a little fridge came in handy for the strawberries we bought at Candi-Kuning market in Bedugul along the way to Lovina. Hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. Seated on the hotel's deck chairs over the black sands of the beach, we had a great experience just enjoying the sunset, despite the cloudiness. We opted for a continental breakfast which came with cheeses, fruits and a basket of breads, rolls and Danish as well as freshly squeezed juice and coffee. It was a good decision to have breakfast on the 2nd level as the breeze was cool even though the sun was pretty strong by 8am. The setbacks we experienced was that the room wasn't very clean. Even the teacups had stains in them and we couldn't figure why the hotel decided to have glass blocks above the room doorway which allowed the corridor light to filter into the room thus preventing us from having a good night's sleep even though they also had black-out curtains for their french windows to the balcony!
