There are better options for the money
1. It’s not in Downtown. It’s in Business Bay. 2. If you’re used to Anantara’s elsewhere, it’s not to the same standard. It the old Oberoi and is showing its age. 3. There are currently renovations going on which the hotel did not mention on hotels.com when it was booked - e.g. the bar was closed months ago and no alternative is open currently. 4. Average to poor service. I asked for my invoice for mini bar etc. at check out and was assured it would be emailed to me. It still hasn’t been over a week later. There’s plenty of other options in Dubai. I won’t be spending my money (or my company’s money) here again.

Not as good as I had expected from Anantara
Hotel room was very spacious and well appointed and enabled me to have a 3 hour board meeting by Teams without getting cabin fever. Taxi pick up and drop off to the hotel was an absolute shambles. The lobby drop off is only wide enough for two cars so large queues built up and Uber’s cancelled on me twice on trips to the airport. The service in the hotel was generally very good but the service in the restaurant for an evening meal was very poor with few waiting staff who were particularly inattentive. It appeared that work was being done at the hotel which may explain some of the issues.

Nice stay. Highly recommend.
Great stay. Location close by to downtown areas and there are some walking distance shops you can walk to for breakfast or coffee. Super pretty bathtub from the room we requested, however view from bathtub just ok. They do have a really nice swimming pool and restaurants plus spa onsite. You can check in early and wait at swimming pool until your room is ready; i thought that was nice. Staff was really nice as well.

Room was not available at check in time or for several hours afterwards. The hotel staff said that existing guests overstayed and rooms required cleaning. However the hotel should have a policy of adhering to check in times as the absence of room availability causes considerable inconvenience. The hotel has a good swimming pool which is of a decent size but is otherwise quite average in terms of facilities.

Great Staff!!
The hotel overall is very nice and comfortable, just slightly showing some age. The room did have a few deficiencies, such as a lack of power outlets (especially by the bedside and in the bathroom), odd light controls, and a tight wardrobe space not wide enough to lay open a modern-day hardshell suitcase. Also, the layout of the building complex makes for a really awkward path to reach the street from the hotel. However, I would like to point out that these few deficiencies would totally be made up by the exceptional service by all staff at the hotel. From our housekeeping person (Veranga) to restaurant staff (particularly Anthony at the breakfast buffet restaurant), everyone went out of their way with genuine attention to make sure we had a pleasant time at the hotel.
