Heliotrope Hotels

I really enjoyed myself here. The entire hotel was so clean which is extremely vital to me. My suite was very comfy with a tv in the seating area and in the bedroom area. There were a number of options for breakfast. Pool was crystal clear even though it was too cold for a dip (for me). Staff were very helpful and friendly. My only issue was the debate I had to have with the lady on reception over the currency I wanted charged from MY account. She failed to realise that by me selecting GBP it means they still receive the fee in their own currency and I don't get charged by my bank for a non GBP transaction. It made me feel very uncomfortable especially when she accepted it when another person advised her of the same thing I had.

I was disappointed with the cigarette smell in the room. Despite claims the room was 'non-smoking' the furnishings and bathroom had strong remnants of cigarette odour. Ironically there was even an ashtray left on the balcony table. I had to leave doors and windows open. I expect guests still don't respect this rule. What is it with this ridiculous obsession with smoking in Greece? Deodorising the room furnishings is recommended. The lift also didn't work. You call the lift and then when you get in the power cuts out. The lift should be decommissioned, I expect it doesn't comply. Doubtful I'd stay here again. To be fair, the service, proximity to airport and parking convenience were all otherwise excellent.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Room was clean and spacious and the beds very comfortable. Located close to the sea and there's a small beach nearby. Only downside was the music played all day by the pool. We would have preferred peace and quiet.

The staff are s truly superb. They will make any accommodation possible.

Everything about the property was absolutely first class. Eva, the front desk receptionist was not only the model of kindness, friendliness, and efficiency, but she went out of her way to be innovative and helpful. What a wonderful advertisement she is for this property!

Clean comfortable room with an excellent breakfast, nice pool and a great location very close to the airport.

Breakfast was average not worth waking up for Family room was spacious but terrible beds to sleep in Definitely needs upgrading in the interior Sheets had holes! Rooms and reception smelt of tobacco and cigarettes . Maybe need to have scented candles/deodorisers No paper flushing toilets this is really unacceptable for a 4 star resort rating hotel Close to airport but need a car to get to town The fact locals can pay to use the pool definitely doesn’t make it enticing too use Great views of beach ,bar and pool area were nice to sit around But selection of music was outdated (1980’s!) Staff at reception were exceptional and helpful Lift doc not meet safety standards Limited choice of hotels to stay in Mytilini so would probably have to stay there if I returned

The rooms were spacious and well equipped; pool was clean and pool service was wonderful

We booked a standard room at the heliotrope hotel which is stated as a 4 star (far from it) and were “upgraded” to a suite which looked like it had been locked away for centuries. We tried to change and were told nothing was available. We asked if she could try for tomorrow given they were “fully” booked and Eva, the check in lady, said only if there is a cancelation given there was nothing available and she tried very hard but she couldn’t do anything. She had also lied to my sisters and told them that we were very happy with the room when we never said that. She assumed given when we called to ask about the air we never said we “didn’t” like it. I was not happy so I called hotels.com who was exceptional! They called the hotel and miraculously a room was available but it was not made. Hotels.com called again and once again miraculously housekeeping arrived and got it made. She lied to my face multiple times and had no shame to continuously do it. The room we finally got was refurbished but although it was “non smoking” it smelt like smoke and like it had never been aired out. The AC made a constant tapping sound, the electricity kept tripping out and the second last day housekeeping never bothered to make our room. Super disappointed, will never go again. Oh, and our view was a heap of construction rubbish that no one could be bothered moving. We were in room 105, do not stay there. Room107 and 106 is as per the renovated photos.

Booked a triple share room and was given a single unrenovated room - only after complaining was I moved to a renovated room which itself was nothing special. One of the days they didn’t even service any of our rooms - housekeeping doesn’t seem to be there all day so that day they decided no one’s room gets serviced! Let’s just say I won’t be rushing back!
