Bad front desk service
When we got to the front desk we asked the lady at the front desk if there is any early check in. She said that nothing is available. It was my wife my son and myself. I told her that we would not be staying that whole night we might not even sleep as we had to catch a plane very eary in the morning. I told her any room would do even though we had booked 2 queen bed room. She said nothing is available completely booked. So we waited in the lobby, 2 hours passes and i notice that no one was checking out. At this time there is a new lady at the desk so i ask her if any is available yet. She says all there is , is one room with triple bed. I said i'll take it. When i get in the room it has 2 double beds which is what i was looking for and it was available all the time.. so i gave them a piece of my mind because they had me waiting there when all the rooms was available. Bad front desk service.fire her.

Good choice in 9 de Octubre
The front desk staff was very nice. The room was big and well furnished. The bathroom was big, had hit water, and a gigantic bathtub. The cleaning service was great and friendly. You can look at the golden green across the street and pay a lot less.

Safe, quality room
The hotel is not cheap (for Ecuador) but it also won't break the bank. Because of the safety and quality provided by it, I think it is well worth it. One note is visitors can only stay for 15 minutes and you need a key card to use the elevator, so those are safety measures I have not seen before. I read other reviews about the decor, and though I am not a fan of it either, it did not deter me, but it is something to note that it uses nudity in its art. The area is also a better part of the city and is also near the Melacon area which is super nice to walk (social area along the river). The exercise room is functional and that is it, but I doubt many guests use an exercise room on vacation so it makes sense not a lot of money was put into it. It does have a treadmill and exercise bike. Water is not safe to drink in Ecuador and so you'll have to buy bottled water all the time, but this hotel did have complimentary water in the lobby. The WIFI seemed to be distant from my room or weak as my connection seemed to not always be there but it is usable... just maybe can't play multiplayer video games on it. I would definitely stay there again if I needed to stay in Guayaquil again.
