Inaccessible to guests. Don't take it.

I booked this hotel as a last-minute call. The location above the lake appealed to me. Got the map and directions online in the caffee where I stopped in Italy. No internet on the way. After climbing at night to the top of the mountain in the dark (Very dangerous) I realized from a local that the place is only accessible by cable-car, and the last one was 2 hours ago. Very disappointed to climb down in the dark to find that reception sent a reminder about the cable-car 2 hours earlier. They were very rude!

Schönes Hotel auf dem Berg mit Panoramablick

Nach einem tollen Tag in Locarno haben wir uns zur Seilbahnstation begeben, um mit dieser zum Hotel zu kommen. Es gibt keine andere Möglichkeit, das Hotel zu erreichen (außer Bergsteigen vielleicht). Das Auto musste in Locarno geparkt werden, und dann kam die ernüchternde Bezahlung der Seilbahn. Der Preis ist sehr hoch. Leider spielte das Wetter nun auch nicht mehr mit. Es regnete in Strömen und wurde kalt auf dem Berg. Wir konnten außer dem Restaurant nichts nutzen. Das trübt den Gesamteindruck. Es für uns im Gesamtblick interessant, aber nicht lohnenswert gewesen.

Great location, average food, grumpy service

Hotel is located right next to the top cable car station and has gorgeous views over the lake. Room was clean and pleasant, although the "king size bed" was just two singles pushed together. The restaurant downstairs was very disappointing, without much choice or variety, and the staff were rather grumpy and unfriendly. They were particularly unhelpful regarding special dietary requirements. We spotted another restaurant a short walk away, and would have gone there if we were staying another night.

Hotel sauber. Frühstück sehr mickrig. Allgemein ist das Essen teuer.Bahn fährt nur bis 20:15,was es kaum möglich macht abends noch nach Locarno flanieren zu gehen. Schade dass Locarno dieses Potential nicht besser unterstützt und touristisch nutzt. Wäre schöner Ort um der Hitze zu entfliehen. Parkplatz unten schwieig zu ergattern.
