not worth the cost
the toilet doesn't flush. The noise is pretty loud. Every time someone open and close the door, it sounds like it's just next to you.....

Bed bugs, snoring, noise, very creepy hallways that are dark! Not worth the price pay a little more for comfort!

Hostel can be better than hotel.
When I checked in and went to the room, I found someone sleeping in my room. Even my lock was almost broken.

Basic like a hostel.
Very much like a hostel. Partition walls separate the 'rooms' up the 3/4 ceiling height where the space is then open covered only by a wooden mesh which lets all noise out and in. Shared communal showers/toilets.

LOVE this place!
I was pleasantly surprised by The Bowery House. For the price you get top rate service and pampering. The rooms are small and have no TVs but if you're in NY to enjoy the city, this place is perfect for sleeping, showering and meeting interesting people in the gorgeous lounge area. Elegantly decorated and extremely friendly and accommodating staff. And a big comfy robe for a hot shower at the end of the day! I'll definitely be back.
