The Block Island Bunk House has a lot of potential. The location is great, the aesthetic is very cute, our beds were extremely comfortable, and the woman working at the front desk was genuinely lovely and courteous. Unfortunately, the overall customer service and lack of follow-through were very disappointing. Before arriving, I repeatedly tried to contact the property about our reservation. I called multiple times, left voicemails for different departments, emailed, and submitted an inquiry through the website. I never received a call back from management. There were also several issues during our stay. Our booking confirmation stated a 2 PM check-in, so my friend scheduled an important work call for 2:30. When we arrived, we were told our room wouldn't be available until 3. Our room keys didn't consistently work, and sticky residue on the floor that we reported was never cleaned. The coffee/espresso area also didn't have the supplies needed to use it as expected. I want to emphasize that the woman at the front desk was kind and did her best to help. My disappointment is with the overall communication, management and lack of follow-through. This is an attractive property with comfortable beds and a great location, but the level of service did not match my expectations. There are significant operational and customer-service kinks that still need to be worked out.

The property is beautiful! Just as pictured for the room description. However, every towel provided in the room has a stain on it and someone’s hair on it. Even the toilet that had a paper sign to say it was clean had hair on the toilet seat that was supposed to be clean. The bed sheets were extremely wrinkled, bed was barely made right (not smooth at all even under the comforter) and could barely fit on the mattress. I told the manager about the stained towels but no one ever bought me replacement towels. This was a disappointing stay to consider such a beautiful property with great amenities and location was not being cleaned and maintained well for me to enjoy it. I didn’t use any other amenities in the room or property as I felt that they would also not be clean and well maintained just as my room.
