All the staff were especially helpful and friendly. My Spanish is not great so I was happy to learn that the desk attendent could help us out by speaking English when necessary. There was no communication problem at all. The bar/restaurant was conven ient and we had a very high quality breakfast included in our room rate.

Hidden gem of a hotel
What makes this hotel great is its staff. We were greeted with a smile by everyone we met, and they went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed, whether it was ordering a taxi, offering us coffee, or even loaning us towels for a day trip elsewhere. Breakfast was fantastic, with enough variety to keep us looking forward to it every day of our 6-night stay. I really liked the option of sitting on the patio in the morning while we enjoyed our coffee. The rooms were small, but clean and comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for the location. The wi-fi never let us down, which was important because we used it to organize our days with family in the area. I was worried that my inability to speak Spanish would be a problem, but Danny (who appears to work there 24/7) is completely bilingual and we had no trouble communicating with the rest of the staff either. This was not a shiny new highrise hotel, but it is a great little taste of Colombian hospitality. I'd certainly go back.

From the minute we arrived in our taxi from the Pereira airport and were greeted at the door by Danny, we knew we were going to enjoy our stay at Hotel Castilla Real! Its in a great location, the rooms are a good size and well-appointed, the beds were comfortable. But best of all, the staff was very attentive to our entire group (especially Danny) and made us feel entirely at home. Its a great value and just an all-round great place to stay!

What a great little hotel in the heart of the city! Excellent location and some of the best service we've ever had anywhere! We were here with a group of 15 people, and each person was made to feel special. Great value, great staff, wonderful beds, awesome rain shower. Stay here if you get the chance!!!!
