IntercityHotel Bonn

Initially a Problem, my request for a room overlooking the Station was not fulfilled. So I needed to return to reception and change rooms.

Everything was great, bit the mattresses were very soft. This is a personal gripe, obviously, but if you're a fan or in need of a firm mattress (I have a back issue), then it would be best to call and confirm in advance.

This is a great business persons hotel right at the main train station in Bonn. Even though the trains were outside my window, the room was perfectly quiet. I am a very light sleeper and was not bothered AT ALL.

Convenient location by the train station, friendly and helpful late-night check-in, and a high-quality hotel for a great value.

Well located and nice hotel. Complimentary bus card for the whole stay was really nice.

Pro- Very central. Clean and plenty of power outlets in the room. The two chairs were firm and most comfortable. Some staff were helpful. Free bus/metro ticket. Internet very fast and free. Con- It is so central that it is literately part of the central station and is located on platform 5. The noise of the trains and announcements was unbelievable. This made the windows impossible to have open for fresh air, and the double glazing was not able to block this noise out. You need to upgrade to an identical sized room in order to move to the other side, where the noise is less bad but still audible. Although they appear in the room photo, there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room. The reading lamp didn't work. The towels were poor. The bed was like a bouncy castle and hurt our backs, we had to put the mattresses on the floor to sleep. The TV is fixed to the wall above the desk area, rather than on the bare wall to the side, and so if one person uses the table, the other cannot watch TV. Some staff were unpleasant. Badly under-staffed. When we arrived the person manning the bar was also watching the main desk. When we noticed the broken lamp on a Friday at 3pm, we were told the technician had gone home and would not be back until Monday. The person on the desk could not look into it as they were alone and could not leave the front desk. I cannot see how this qualifies as a 4 star hotel.

So glad to be back to this IntercityHotel again since my last German trip a few years back. Great location by the Bonn Hauptbahnhof train station. However, the receptionists weren’t very friendly. With several encounters, the lady didn’t smile even once at all. I also noticed that the guests in front of us were more friendly than the lady receptionist. Certainly made us not feeling very welcome as last visit. Fortunately, the room has been updated nicely since my previous stay. The business style of the room is quite spacious with a desk and little coffee table and chairs. Although the chairs are quite hard which made sitter to be sitting straight and could not be relaxing. There’s a nice well stocked little refrigerator. The bed sheet was crisp. But the pillows were way to soft. I loved the towels imprinted with the title of the hotel. A nice 👍 new touch. I always enjoyed the compliment Voucher for the public transportation which complimented the hotel rather higher price tags. Unlike most of the same grade hotels we’ve been staying during this 4 weeks European trip, the shower room is tightly sealed which prevents water 💦 leaking. It did took some finger muscle gripping to get the shower door to open though. Unfortunately, the ac made lots of wind noise and couldn’t be adjusted to as cool as outside. I ended up having to open the window for several times, just so I could get the room to be cooler and breezier. But then, the street noi

What a great place to have chosen. Staff soooooo friendly, room was great,roomy, really comfy bed and couldn't believe how close to the station yet NEVER heard a train!! So close central,definitely recommend staying here again if I return to Bonn. Certainly made my stay pleasurable

Right above the train station, near to everything. Especially rewarding is the free Bonn Cards that provided free transportation for our entire stay and discounts to places.
