My recent stay.
I was extremely nervous about being in Juarez in general, but the hotel and it's surrounding area made me feel safe. It's located close to everything for a person who has an appointment when the U.S embassy, it has a very affordable and delicious restaurant a few steps away and we ate there all the time (their menudo, flautas, tortas, and many other items were very good), and the mall is within walking distance as well.Yes, it doesn't have all the amenities a resort hotel might have, but it has the essentials for a quick trip and it's pretty cheap and comfortable compared to what I have paid before for other places that were much worse. I thought the place was very clean in general and the older cleaning lady we had on our floor was very friendly. If you want to go somewhere but are afraid to drive there are always taxis available right outside. Don't be afraid to explore a bit and definitely ask people from the area what they recommend to do around and what time are safe. I found that most people were honest because they know that as outsiders our safety is our concern. If I were to go back to Juarez I would definitely return to Ibis mostly because of how safe I felt and I prefer that feeling over luxurious amenities and bigger room any day.
