Hotel facilities were very good...excellent views, wonderful staff. For us, it was all about the beach and with it's own private palapa's and necessary shade, this place can't be beat. There's no elevators of course, so many stairs, but not really a problem unless guess is very frail. Only downside was the restaurant and bar was so so. Food and drinks ordered at the beach seemed better than those in the restaurant? Again, not a problem as there are dozens of eating and drinking opportunities within walking distance. All and all, a great place and I intend to go back soon!

Enjoyed a week here. On a sloping hillside, so lots of steps from upper rooms to beach. So if steps are an issue for you, don’t stay here. Great service, and friendly and accommodating staff. La Ropa beach very nice. Views are great!

Great views from the rooms, rest. & bar. Nice wide beach access. Relaxed atmosphere and nice included breakfast service with lots of fruit. Built in exercise program going up and down the many stairs - not for those with mobility issues.

I loved the location, right on Playa la Ropa. The room was spacious with an amazing view and terrace. The beach was beautiful with lovely palapas and service by the beach bar. The breakfast at the restaurant was wonderful with a great view. The people who worked at all parts of the resort were so warm and caring. We are so glad to have found this place.

One of a kind family owned jewel tucked into the cliff overlooking La Ropa Beach. We have enjoyed numerous times over several decades, and it did not dissapoint. Lovely room, great bed, sweet staff, spectacular setting. Viva Hotel Catalina!

This is a sweet, family owned classic staffed by the best. We have enjoyed Catalina 3 times over the years, and appreciated it more than ever this visit. Rooms are nice, breakfast lively, beach spectacular, water perfect. Yes, there are those steps.....but given that our typical day consisted of lying on a beach lounge and floating in the blue water, the 220 steps to our room were necessary! Will be back!
