This hotel has had very mixed reviews. We stayed for 3 nights, room only, and found it quiet and comfortable. We just wanted somewhere close by to lay our heads. Everything worked, TV channels limited, no BBC 1 or 2. Would have been nice to have had a few biscuits with tea/coffee

Loved this hotel. Lovely rooms with their own themes. We had a meal and it was really lovely and not too badly priced. The only slightly negative comment I have is the mattresses were to firm for us. Could I suggest a choice of type of egg for the hotel's already excellent breakfast. We will come back

Very well presented externally and communal areas, however room in poor state of repair, cracks in wall and paint, carpets poor and lifting up on poor joins, whole room painted one colour including doors, dado rail, skirting board. Food very good service OK.Car park fee not ideal

Ok, but a little overpriced
Room was basic but no complaints. Just needed somewhere to sleep.for one night didnt use the restaurant for any meals, so cannot comment. Hotel is a little tired in looks and could do with a little.cosmetic work

The receptionist were very helpful throughout the stay. Unfortunately when I got to the room the room smelt of cigarettes . I informed the staff of this . The sink hot water tap , although the water was very hot the water supply was inconsistent and kept stopping. I returned after my evening meal and a couple were arguing really loudly in the hall way. I decided to take a bath but the cold water tap was frozen in place. I was moved rooms to a ground floor room but unfortunately there was no internet available , therefore I was unable to prepare any work for my next days meeting. The breakfast was delicious. I have very mixed feelings about my stay here and feel that the problems could have easily have been rectified to make the stay much more enjoyable.

The hotel staff were friendly and the room was clean. As there was no way of controlling the tempartaure in the room, it would have been useful to have extra blankets available in the room which could be used if needed.

Pleasant stay but needs serious renovation works
Last minute booking due to family emergency. The whole place is very outdated and is in need of serious renovation. Despite this, however, the staff were all fantastic, helpful, courteous and kind. The room was warm and pleasant, though smelt a bit musty on arrival. I'm sure if the place could have some renovations it would be a lovely place to stay. It certainly has character and a nice atmosphere for a quiet break.
