I would not recommend this hotel at all. We had to cancel our two-week trip from Canada to Germany due to COVID19. All other hotels immediately issued refunds to us. This place did not citing their cancellation policy. I would recommend to all travellers that you search for a hotel that would allow a full refund in the event that you have to cancel your trip in the event of something like a pandemic. Note to Hotels.com - I have reviewed and did not use personal information, did not use profane language or in my opinion break any other guidelines. I do not see why you cannot post my review. I cannot give them credit for taking care of their customer when they did not.
It was easy to find, great location to the old town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were great, it was nice to have air conditioning which is rare in Germany. The breakfast buffet in corona times was good. The staff served you instead of everyone touching and walking by the food.
Ideal location if you're arriving or departing by train or bus. Close to restaurants, shopping, and sights. Big rooms, clean, quiet, and good breakfast.
Warm welcome on arrival, clean room (but no view from our "courtyard" room), instant hot water, big nice shower, good breakfast (despite virus ending open buffets everywhere).
Location opposite the train station and the castle!
Fabulous hotel, modern, friendly and helpful staff who were really interested in making sure their guests were well looked after. Breakfast really good and great location close to Hauptbannof and the city centre
Top floor room with dormer window was very small, cracked my head on the window cutouts more than a few times, room was very warm after a couple of days I found out that the control on the wall acts as a heater during winter, so even with it at its lowest setting it’s still sending heat into the room. Until I found that out I had to sleep with the window wide open, with an office building across the street with auto lights that came on/off all the time, hard to get to sleep. Staff were very friendly and helpful, never ate in the hotel so I can’t comment on that. I would happily book again but not on the top floor dormer rooms.
The frontline service is the worst I have ever encountered. The room was not clean. Hair left at the bath tub. Stains on the door and walls. But the design of the room was good. But to me, cleanliness is the first priority.
Overall it was a quite decent stay. The service was very good, and the quality of the food and drink were above average. To critique, I feel the beds were a bit too soft and the shower temperature fluctuated constantly but not in extreme temperatures. I’d feel comfortable staying here again, and would rate this as a 3.5 star hotel.
We stayed for Christmas and the Hotel was excellent and provides brilliant facilities for children with a 'Playmobil room'!
