The apartment itself was great. Well laid out, had everything we needed. Communication with the host seemed to be prompt and even stated that our satisfaction was their priority. Very quickly into the stay we discovered that the downstairs TV was not working and the AC was not working. The host stated they would get a technician in for the AC and they would switch out the TV. I never received a status update that I didn't have to ask for. The AC technician never came.
We spent 3 evenings and nights in this apartment where the inside temperature was 32C, or 90 F. We got hardly any sleep for 3 nights. They did drop off a fan that helped slightly. The TV issue was never resolved.
When we called our third party broker and they contacted the property manager, the property manager stated that no complaint had been registered, thus, they could not compensate us. I sent our broker the entire What's App conversation we had regarding these issues to prove we had reported them.
To make matters worse - my warm shower water lasted for 60 seconds, then went cold. The provided blow dryer worked for 30 seconds, then shut off. When we returned from our days out, the apartment smelled like sewer.
Porto is a beautiful city and the apartment is close to everything. But these were the 3 most miserable evenings and nights we have ever experienced.
