Nice but had issues!
This was a nice resort right off the beach, but there are a few items that NEED to be addressed: - Communication with most of the Staff/Housekeepers was quite difficult as very few spoke English. (Asked three times about replenishing towels for our room with no luck? (Even with the Front Desk) - The Entertainment each night was in Spanish, but the Saxaphone player & Violinist were Excellent. - THE MUSIC WAS TOO LOUD as it DROWNED OUT THE SINGERS / PERFORMERS! (Even the Magicians performance, couldn't even hear the applause) - Activities around the pool were nice, but again the Speakers were TOO LOUD! (Except one day they had them pointed to the beach/ocean side, it was perfect!) - I loved the layout and challenge at the Iberostar Bavaro Golf Club, but it NEEDS to UPDATE their system as it was total confusion when trying to tee off at your RESERVED Tee-Time. I don't blame the starters, but many people who didn't have tee-times or one that was up to an hour later, were allowed to tee off ahead of the earlier reserved tee-times. Didn't make sense and frustrated many players. (This occurred each time that we golfed). - The steak at the French Restuarant (Dine by reservation), was excellent while steak cooked in any of the other food locations was always overcooked, quite tough and chewy. - I've stayed at many Iberostar Resorts, but I would not go back to this location.

Facilities old. Food Is not variety enough and you only have three days to reserve canteen. If you arrive in the middle of the week that means you don't have chance to reserve. You have to go to buffet. All food salty. Won't be there again.

Only was allowed 2 dinners at there many restaurants on my 6 day stay there and they booked me the same restaurant twice, was fully booked they said. No swim up bars in the hotel property we stayed at. Room key cards deactivated multiple times so on a big property there we’re a couple walks to the lobby. Buffet food stayed the same for the most part just okay I would say. The theater area was not big enough to accommodate there guests. Not enough seats so we kinda grab a ledge/stairs to seat and enjoy a show.

The staff are great .. For tourist destinations staff at least could speak and understand English it’s frustrating to both .. The place needs major renovation. The sink and tubs get easily clogged.. the concierge lied Celestine he said the French restaurant is closed n under construction and 3 days after we arrived going to see the magic show we saw the French restaurant open and of course we tried to make a reservation the next day was full already the rest of the week .. The language barrier and the rooms are old I saw something hanging on the lamp shade it looks like it’s been there for awhile since it’s dusty obviously no one dusting it .. Definitely not coming back to Iberostar in DR

When I arrived at the Iberostar Punta Cana I decided to upgrade to the Iberostar Bavaro Select, so my review is based on the Iberostar Bavaro. I DO NOT recommend this place. The hotel has its plus, such as good infrastructure; but our experience was horrible. We got home yesterday, and I have my baby and husband very sick from the hotel drinking water. When we arrived at the hotel, they gave us two empty water bottles and told us that we had to fill them with their filtered water that could be found around the premises, which we did. The second day we were there, my baby, who only drinks formula, started vomiting. On the third day, she was still sick. The fourth (last) day my baby started having diarrhea and my husband and I started getting sick too. By that point, I was sure it was the water. My baby hadn't consumed anything from the hotel other than water. I started to examine the water and when I poured the water into a crystal-clear class, I saw that it was white. We did not seen that before because we can't see through the bottles. When I got home, I started researching this on the internet and found many complaints and reports of guests experiencing the same thing due to water consumption. I was shocked to see these complaints since 2019 and the hotel keeps providing this contaminated water to their guests. The restaurants were very disappointing as well. For the safety of your family please stay away from Iberostar(s) in DR.
