Old decor, no carpet in room. Bathroom old, tired and dirty. Tea/ coffee not replenished daily. Cheap polystyrene cups in room for tea/coffee.

Not impressed and would not recommend or return
Checked in and the local receptionist mistook 200DKK for 100DKK and asked for more money!!! Only when I asked for all the money back as I had miss counted it did she admit of I thought the 200 where 100. My husband felt the same as me that it was a deliberate action to try and get extra money from someone not used to the currency. Beds uncomfortable no information booklet so when asked if we wanted to book for breakfast I wasn't told a price or could I find a price. Went to the in house restaurant to be told you had to book a table and not just turn up even though it was half empty. Not ideal first impressions of billund and thankfully we stayed only one night and moved around to other hotels which had been cheaper but by far better.

Booked the hotel for its proximity to Legoland. Just 500 metres along the footpath. Excellent. Staff were most welcoming and helpful. Food was delicious. Nothing not to like about this hotel.

We came to Hotel Propellen with high expectations based on the price per night. The check in was smooth and the receptionist was eager to give us extra information. We didn’t have the opportunity to book breakfast through Expedia so immediately we had to pay upfront for the breakfasts we wanted. The price was a bit of a shock for three of us. The hotel provides a range of restaurants and even a high class take away option but we found all to be cost prohibitive and not particularly appealing. We therefore ate out in the evening. Our beds were uncomfortable. The room had a double (Danish style) and a sofa bed for three of us. Unfortunately the mattress topper on the double was like an inflatable and curled at the edges when you exerted pressure on it. The sheet therefore did not stay in place during sleep and there was no mattress protector. The pillows were dreadful and only one supplied per person. The sofa bed was not long or wide enough for our adult son. The room was long and dark, set into the roof of the building with only one Velux window at the end. It was therefore a very dry atmosphere in the room. Opening the Velux merely let in the rain, the smoke from our neighbours cigarette and the constant sound of aircraft from Billund Airport. Beds were not completely made back up each day and the room not fully cleaned. Breakfast was excellent however; the staff were friendly and efficient. There was a vast array of choice, fresh, tasty and well presented.
