Not worth it. Pay a little more for a better place
I booked 2 rooms for my mom and her friend. Their review: "Good location on a quiet street. Room is tiny -- good for sleeping only. A little claustrophobic when awake. Can hear neighbors walking and talking. Pillow is very hard, but the mattress is good. Male staff unfriendly, bordering on rude, and did not like answering questions regarding directions, activities or places to eat. Stairs are narrow and steep; had difficulty getting luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Decorations are very dated." To be fair, I sent them the warnings about small rooms and steep stairs before booking, and they didn't read reviews or look at photos. However, the unfriendliness of staff is unacceptable. Two separate men answered "I don't know" when asked for restaurant recommendations and things to do (OK, fine, maybe you don't want to be a conceirge, but you are working in a tourist industry in a small city.) But the fact that the staff answered "I don't know" when asked for directions to the museums right around the corner and I had to look it up and send it from back in the US indicates that they just don't like their jobs.

I was absolutely amazed by this hotel. I would stay here over and over again! It's in a quiet neighbourhood but still very close to tourist attractions. My room was VERY clean. Be warned though, because there are a lot of stairs!

Very good location, interesting to stay in something still resembling an Amsterdam house (tall, narrow, steep stairs). The room for 3 was great, pillows were lind of hard though. But clean and all as expected. Did not try the breakfast. Staff very nice and helpful.
