I have stayed here once before and find it’s consistently clean and the gardens are very nice. It’s good value for money and the breakfast had a good selection of items including fresh fruit. The location is good for Alajuela and is on a quiet side street but close to bus routes, the Zoo, restaurants, and only about 15 minutes to the airport. The day I arrived, the restaurant was closed so the staff ordered food to be delivered to my room from a restaurant nearby. I will come again if I need a place to stay in Alajuela.

We travel to Costa Rica at least once a year, and always use Rosa de America as our airport hotel. Staff is very friendly, helpful and efficient. Rooms are somewhat small, but clean and bed reasonably comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and very well manicured, with amazing plants and flowers wherever you look.

We always stay here the first night when we fly into San Jose. Beautiful little spot with lush vegetation, plenty of birds, nice pool and good food.

Suite rooms are large, kids liked the pool. Stay included a buffet breakfast. Nicely landscaped. Take an Uber to/from the airport for <$5, instead of a taxi >$25

The rooms are old and should be renovated. Beds were uncomfortable and we found a large spider in the room. The hotel is not as close to the airport as we thought - about a 20 minute drive. For a one night stay in San Jose, we would recommend going with one of the big chain hotels instead.

The hotel gates open and a gorgeous garden paradise awaits! We really enjoyed our (too short) stay at this hotel. The staff was fantastic. Dinner was local and delicious; they served us poolside so that our kids could swim, and a gorgeous white owl landed on the tree in front of us! We completely enjoyed going into Alajuera to shop and eat. Take the local bus - it's cheap and safe - into the city center. Enjoy coffee and pastel de manzana at El Tostador, and definitely enjoy the Sopa Marisco for lunch at the Cevichera stall in the indoor city municipal market. Book several nights at this hotel; you'll be sorry (like us) if you limit your time here!
