My kid and I both enjoyed the authentic vibe of this historic hotel in the heart of Heidelberg. The central location was awesome, but we were immersed in the hustle and bustle of the restaurants below and the cleanup afterwards. It’s noisy (especially with open windows to catch the breeze) but not unexpected. Try to park in structure P12 as the hotel offers discount vouchers (10€/night) instead of the usual rate. We didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant but it looked lovely and the staff were all delightful, especially Dennis (who hooked me up with a much-needed coffee each morning and provided insider tips). Room Details: large size on the 3rd floor with two twin beds, a standing fan, fridge available but had to be plugged in, no coffee maker, no top sheets (but available in the hallway closet), bathroom had a corner shower, everything was clean.

Loved it!!!!
If you’re reading this and your dates are available, stop reading and BOOK IT!!! Pros: central location, our “room” was an apartment with full stocked kitchen, dining table that seats 4, kind size bed, 1.5 bathrooms and made us feel like a local. It overlooked the Main Street leading to the old bridge with great restaurants, ice cream parlors and coffee shops. Clothes washing machine inside of apartment was amazing also. Small outside patio in the rear for quiet evening relaxation. Easy walk to 2 bus stations. Cons: Lively European street (noise is easily canceled out by the windows being closed). Second bed was a pull out couch that we thought was comfy but may be an issue for some.

We loved this hotel’s historic building and decorations. The room was very clean and comfortable and the restaurant downstairs was excellent. Be aware if arriving by car because driving the narrow streets packed with people is a little tricky.

Clean, roomy, good location
The check in was inside a restaurant. Lift was available to our room. The room itself was very nice, clean, roomy. There was some restaurant noise from the outside street but nothing that kept us awake. The second bed was sufficient for our adult son traveling with us, but the main bed mattresses were really hard.
