Great choice

Steris was lovely. Great location, opposite the beach, walking distance to the town, restaurants, activity. Rooms clean, wonderful staff. Breakfast was nice and view fantastic. Only thing I'd suggest is firmer pillows. I would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to others. Felt like we were family, not guests. Really nice 😊

Great location and view from 1 bedroom apartment. I would rate this hotel this way; room 3.5 star, nice view, everything you need, spacious. Service 2 star. Breakfast 1 star, not clean, limited and just did not feel food was appetizing and clean. Lobby was so hot no a/c, feel bad for employees. Pool was very tiny and 3 chairs. Location 5 star, beach, old town restaurants all right there and short walk. They charge you for towel 3 euro and if you want to wash it if staying longer they charge you again. The housekeepers were really great, super nice and excellent. For the price we paid felt was not up to that level.

Descent hotel near the beach

Our stay was okay, but there are things that could improve. First i have to say the manager was nice to talk to and kind. The room had a sofa bed that was the most uncomfortable i ve tried in my life. I had to sleep there cause there was no crib avail. To be fair, i requested this kinda late and they were no availlable for that night. So my wife took the bed with the kid, i took the sofa. The pillows were not the best either. The room was well equiped. The tv was very small however. Another weird thing, the bathroom door had no lock, its designed just to close with a bit of a gap, so anyone can push and open. Its bad when you have kids runing around, or want your privacy. Just bad stylish choice i guess. The area is near to the beach, with lots of shops around. The city centre is 10-15 min walk or so. All in all it wasnt a bad stay, the hotel is renovating too, as many seem to do around the area when we were there. But there are things that could improve.

Nice stay, great location and big breakfast.

The hotel itself is very well located, right across the street from beach and within an easy10 to 15 mins. walk (along the water), to the harbor an old town. No parking at hotel itself but found a spot around the corner within a short walk. I would think it would be very difficult to find a space in high season. The stucco front of the hotel was being redone but it didn't affect us. The hotel is a very nice looking place, clean, good service, with elevator. The rooms are very clean, spacious, along with nice size bathroom. I would classify it like an upscale Super 8 but it was comfortable. Also a small kitchen area with a electric teapot and nice Nespresso machine, complimentary coffee and tea, etc. Breakfast was very good and very much! Eggs cooked our way, selection of cheeses, meats, breads, croissants, yogurt, coffee and tea. More than we could eat! The owner/manager was lovely and gracious. She encouraged us to make a sandwich to take with us along with some rolls. She just seemed to want to please us and was very sweet. She also was very helpful in giving us directions and information on the area.

2 nights in apartment

Sadly we had 2 rainy/windy days in Rethymno so we couldn’t enjoy the pool but we made use of the big supermarket nearby and really enjoyed the apartment (very grateful for the free upgrade!) the bed was comfy and thick balcony doors meant no traffic noises at night time. The bike rental for 3 euros for the whole day was a delight. The air con randomly turned itself on sometimes but easy to stop with remote control. There was no washing up liquid and sponge but the staff were very responsive when I asked for some, there was always someone on reception if I needed a Q answered. The fridge magnets at the end were s lovely touch also

Rethymno Gem

A real “Gem” so glad we found this hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful, even let us put our cases in our room before we checked in! The room and bathroom were large and had everything we needed, and the sea view from our lovely balcony was perfect. We will definitely return.
