This a superb hotel in a fabulous but small location. Feedback for Reception staff is that if an All Inclusive customer books the A la Carte restaurant they need to be told that it’s not included in the all inclusive. When I asked for the drinks to be taken off the bill with numerous reception staff I kept getting fobbed off to come back at different times. It never got sorted out for us and there was never any apology or acknowledgment that an error was made, which was disappointing.

This complex is very nice and comfortable. The staff are very friendly when meeting around the complex. Great location. Food selection is good though a little repetitive. Our room in block 1 was very spacious, clean and comfortable. On the negative side there were a couple of issues that were not handled very well by management. Firstly, when we arrived we asked a member of staff if we could access the “guest lift” to reception on the 6th floor to check in. Instead she instructed us to carry and pull our heavy luggage up a very steep hill in the rain to reception. On arrival at reception and on complaint of this we were advised that the member of staff who gave this instruction should have operated the lift for us!! They did speak with this staff immediately and apologised but nothing further in the way of an apologetic drink waiting at the bar for us. Secondly, due to adverse weather conditions, we were woken in the night by a loud and very scary crash which shook the room. Due to very heavy rain rocks had crashed down from the cliff wall behind unto the surface right outside our door. Staff were immediately on hand to investigate and start the clear up but no one inquired as to our well being then or next day despite it being a very scary moment. It appears staff are trained to smile and say good morning but management incapable of proper follow up procedure in cases like this. The above incidents happened within 48 hours of our arrival so dampened our stay.

Excellent holiday and stay at the Gloria Royal. Really clean, staff really friendly and happy to help no matter what the issue. The food was fantastic with lots of choice, buffet style to ensure they can cater to all tastes. The only minor negative was the rush this created around mealtimes, but it’s what to expect when serving so many guests. We ate out a few times with great restaurants nearby and in Puerto Rico. This is our second stay at this hotel and we will definitely come back again.
