Excellent location. Next to the train station. Needs an upgrade

Very good 8.0
Great hotel.
The room was very spacious and clean. The only issue I had was that the room did have a slighly unpleasant smell, but I notified the person at the reception area after checking out. The location is perfect, as it is close to Gare du Midi, and a short walking distance to central Brussels. Great hotel. Great staff. Would definitely go there again.

Clean and comfortable room
Basic comfortable room, it’s a room for resting your head not to spend the day in. Very clean. Bed was comfy to sleep on. Easy short 5 minute walk from Bruxelles-Midi train station. Would recommend

Fair 4.0
Disappointing, pictures better than reality
Hotel is conveniently located near the Bruxelles Midi train station. However, pictures are much better than the reality. Maybe I was unlucky, but I would not choose to stay there again, for that kind of price, you can get a much better hotel in Brussels...

Exceptional 10.0
Highly recommend it, super clean, good size room and a decent breakfast. A few minutes from Midi international rail station and subway.

Poor 2.0
Worst hotel ever! In a dangerous area full of shady characters you feel as if you are about to be robbed at every person you walk past. Such an uncomfortable vibe, never again.

Poor 2.0
A horrible experience!
Unfortunately the Hotel de France is a total dump! The rooms are small, the furniture is sparse, the mattress is horrible and the cleanliness requires improvement. In addition there is massive sewer line construction just in front of the hotel which literally stinks to high haven and restrict the access and parking. I can not recommend this place and if you value your customers neither should you! Helmut J Steger

Poor 2.0
I was aware that it was a very basic hotel but I did not expect a room without window. This was terrible. In the end I was given a room with a window on an internal shaft closed on top. There was no much difference with the previous room as you could not change the air in the room anyway. This is not respecting basic conditions of hygiene and no hotels should be allowed to operate under these conditions. At least they should clearly specify what they are selling. As it is mandatory for hotels to specify if the room is ensuite or if they have aircon they should also specify when there is no window. But they do not do it. I would have never booked if I knew I had to stay in a box.
