clean and tidy.
Room was a pleasant surprise. This was a last minute stay due to another rubbish day on the trains home. For the money this was the nicest room I’ve stayed in. Ok carpet let’s it down, but the bed and shower in room were clean and tidy. Didn’t stay for breakfast as I went to the office early.

Good location for us, does what it says on the tin, suited us for overnight stay. Breakfast was cereal, yoghurt and toast. Coffee was nice. Friendly staff, overall not bad.

Great little hotel
Room was just what I wanted! Extremely clean and great WiFi! Breakfast was excellent, simple but served nicely and very relaxing! Thoroughly recommend this hotel!

I stayed during transport problems so it was very convenient. The room and bathroom were small but very clean and comfortable with modern fittings. The overall condition of the dining room and building could do with an upgrade. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is great for central London, within a five minute walk from Victoria station.

Good base for exploring London
Basic but adequate - it's not the Ritz but then again you're not paying Ritz prices. The accommodation was small, but this is London and, as in any major city, you pay for space- but the room and the ensuite were spotless. The location, just a few minutes walk from Victoria Station, was great. We visited Hyde Park for Winter Wonderland, Saatchi Gallery on the King's Road for Tutankhamun and Victoria Theatre for Hamilton - so we could walk to all of these easily. There were plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. The breakfast was very basic - toast, cereal, coffee from a machine and yoghurt - but again this was adequate. The staff were all polite and helpful. The only negative was that the TV couldn't get any channels - but we weren't staying there to watch TV. All in all fine for a budget break in London.

It was okay, dated decor around the hotel but inside the rooms was cosy and nice. Staff Professional.

Not Great
It may have been reasonably clean and tidy - but the mattress was cheap and nasty so a decent night's sleep was definitely not had.

I needed a bed for the night, clean but no frills. The room was very compact but there was en-suite shower and loo. Kettle and tea and coffee on hand. The situation reminded me of the vintage Chic Murray joke. ‘I’m not saying the room was small, but when I got into bed the door handle got in with me...’

Not good
Really sad and run down. Damp and smoky smell throughout, mildew on the windows, no double-glazing (noisy main road) and thin walls. Breakfast is toast, cereals and coffee out a machine only. The staff were helpful enough, though, and the location is good for Victoria station. Much better places nearby for the same money.

I always stay at the Dover when I am in London. (about 4 times a year for about two weeks each time. It is so convenient and very clean. The staff is nice, and the towels are huge. They always try to accommodate my request for a ground-floor room as I am 76. Good value for money if you aren't expecting to stay in your hotel room all day in the lap of luxury. I'm out at 9:30 am and return from theatre about 11;00 pm. Close to great bus and tube service.
