Somerset Vientiane - Vientiane

It was a great stay. We got in a little early and they let us check in early. From the moment we were there to the moment we left everyone was extremely helpful. The hotel room was a bit more spacious than we needed which was a great surprise. Next time we are in Vientiane we will stay here.

The lacation is close to the airport, but a bit far from other facilities. e.g. local restaurant... Room condition is good, but you should not expect breakfast. And I was embrassed when I went the restaurant for breakfast because of Mosquitos.

Great table for me to do some office works in between meetings. Breakfast should be be improved, espacially the coffee quality.

This is a nice little hotel with large rooms that are more like a studio apartment with a couch and open kitchen. The a/c is so strong which is great in a hot tropical climate. Also the wifi is incredible! Fastest I have ever had in any hotel in the world! I was getting 78mb/s download when I ran a speed test! There is no market just out the door but turn left and about 3 blocks down is a 7-11 style to get drinks and snacks. Just beyond that market is the whole tourist area of the town where you can find tons of restaurants from any country and bars and massage places and even the night market is there every night. There is also a really nice pool and gym that were always empty. The downside of the hotel is the rock-hard Asian mattress. I had a difficult time falling asleep many nights. Also the breakfast room is so small with little choice. It costs $8 for breakfast but I opted to eat outside everyday for much less.

Great hotel. Easily arranged complimentary airport pickup by just calling the front desk the day before arrival. Professional staff at check in counter, service minded and with international standard in service provided. English could be improved among some of staff, but the level of English spoken among staff is much better than among the average Lao population. Room according to descriptions, comfortable and luxurious. Kitchen with basic appliances, very good for basic cooking for lunch and dinner as well as breakfast. Hot water in shower and great air conditioning. On this stay I also had a balcony on the top 6th floor, which is a bonus, not every room come with balcony. Complimentary laundry room with washer and dryer, bring your own detergent. Great gym with free weights and treadmill. Pool is large and sun beds available and free towels provided. Lounge with complimentary tea and coffee. Great wifi throughout the property, reliable and fast internet. Check out at 12, but free to use pool and lounge if you are waiting for your flight for an evening departure. Leave your bags at front desk for pick up later, reliable and safe. Complimentary airport shuttle easily arranged at front desk.
