Hotel Kalura

Fantastic facilities (beach area, swimming pool, water sports choices, terraces). The bedroom, however, was disappointing. I booked a superior sea view double room. The decor was tired and old, even the air conditioning had some sort of pipe going into a plastic container hidden behind a divider. The room furniture was ugly and the privacy in the terrace was minimal, you could see your neighbours almost sitting next to you if you wanted to have a glass of wine in yours. The views were very nice though. The breakfast staff very helpful and friendly considering the challenges of COVID-19. The final let down for me was the night receptionist who was nowhere to be found when I checked out at 6 am. When I finally found him (in the breakfast room) his attitude was dismissive and quite rude. Nevertheless this is a relaxing hotel and loved staying here, I definitely would stay here again, not expecting much of the room, though.

Wonderful romantic place in amazing location. Had a great time and would go back. So many facilities and lovely spots to sit and read or have a drink listening to the sea waves. Great for solo, couple or a family holiday of all ages. Beautiful, newly decorated, tidy bedroom with the sea views. Nice breakfast and great coffee. The hotel is half an hour walk or 5min drive to beautiful Cefalu. Would have loved to stay there longer! They have offered a courtesy room to change before the late flight. Thank you!

Hotel Kalura was delightfully set in a beautiful setting. The food was 1st class along with the service from all staff. The hotel was extremely clean and very conscious of the COVID-19 protocols. We stayed 2 nights and wanted to stay more, the only blemish on the stay was going into Cefalù itself which was somewhat very disappointing and extremely busy considering the latest COVID-19 issues. I would highly recommend this hotel to you all if you’re staying in the area. Make sure you get yourselves a sea view as the views are stunning!

I usually only review a property if something is above or below my expectations at the price point I paid. In this case the view blew me away, almost as good as the Amalfi Coast but not with a hundred other people stacked next to or on top of you. I could barely even see any other buildings from my deck overlooking the water. If you don't have a car it may not be a good choice but I do and finding good parking is difficult. Here parking was easy.

We stayed after the beach season so things were pretty quiet. We are easy travelers - just need a clean room, good location and our own bathroom. This property met our expectations. I am sure it would have been a little more active had the timing of our visit been different. But, we loved looking out on the water and enjoying the peace and quiet. Can't really comment on the service as we didn't really use any services outside of check in. But check in was just fine.

Public area's are very nice and great beach facilities for families. The view is stunning . Hotel is tricky to find but luckily the GPS should get you there. Restaurant food quality is very average with very big portions. Stay with just a primo OR a secundo, but suggest not both... Our room did have a very dirty air conditioning vent and some mould, but when I brought this to the attention of the hotel the hotel receptionist was mortified and said it would be taken care of.

We didn’t have a very good experience. Though the staff (retaurant wait staff and housekeeping) were friendly and helpful, management was not. We had a bad leak in the A/C of our room and had to be moved to a lesser room (from ocean view to parking lot view) and were not given a discount for our trouble even though our suitcase, which was on the floor, got soaked all the way through to the clothes in the puddle of water caused by the leak. The breakfast is abundant if a bit chaotic with so many people at one time. The beds are not up to the quality of the price (really hard and lumpy) and neither are the linens or towels. The big draw is the setting which is fantastic with a nice restaurant terrance overlooking the ocean.
