Love to visit for hiking and golfing. Perfect stay a way from home in BC
We wanted a somewhat close weekend away and it was our first time staying at Sun Peaks. The hotel was great and very accommodating
Beautiful hotel, we all enjoyed ourselves.
We have enjoyed coming here for years. Two disappointments this time: 1. We were placed in room 1311 in the Residences, which is essentially on top of Morrissey pub and makes sleeping next to impossible. We asked to be moved but got NO response from the manager, which was very disappointing 2. Hot tub jets appear to be broken, in all the tubs. Not a big deal, but still not on par with prior experiences
Staff at checkin was friendly, 2 room suite is way, way over priced for what it is, they hosed us because there was a freestyle competition on the hill and availability was limited. Sun Peaks is a great hill, tons of terrain and friendly staff, sushi place is great, bring your cash and credit cards, food is more expensive than Whistler.
Could use more cutlery, dishes, etc. Also a shelf or something in the shower for shampoo instead of the floor. Overall the condo was clean and comfortable.
Absolutely fantastic
Great ski weekend in a fabulous hotel right on the mountain!
Here we go, my first negative review in 15 years of traveling the world. Not the first negative experience, but the first one I'm compelled to right about. "The Residences at Sun Peaks Grand" was advertised as a 4 star hotel with 4.6 (superb?!) feedback. I was looking forward to having my family enjoy hotel's amenities, but what we found when we got there was not what I expected. The stay wasn't a total disaster but it was far enough from "superb" that I have to say 'buyer beware'. The Good: - the staff is very pleasant as you can expect from Canada's ski resorts; very nice and easy to talk to; The Bad: - buildings adjacent to the main building are not quite ski-in/ski-out and you'll need to walk for 5min or so from the chair lifts - when asked if they can provide slippers with bathrobes, they said "we don't do that"; I have never seen/heard this at a 4-star hotel before; - the pool (outdoors) is very old and run-down; it is in a dire need of a remodel; very sub-par for a 4-star facility; - the game room: out of 6 arcades, only 1 1/2 worked The Ugly: - leaky toilet in the room, making noises all night; - construction everywhere - out of 4 hot-tubs, 2 were non-functional - sauna was closed/non-functional, which is a big deal for me on a ski trip; - nobody at the front desk in our building (only in the main building) and due to construction, no way to get to the main building except to walk outside of the hotel (3-5min walk through the snow);
As long as you don’t mind a quick walk outside in the village to get to the pool and fitness center, these condos are fantastic. Loved the in-unit laundry and full kitchen!
