One time is enough!
The experience in a castle was great. We also had dinner there which was not such a great experience. It took over a hour to get shrimp cocktail and their was only two other couples there. Once we received our dinner it was fabulous; hour and half later. We will not return again.

Disappointing
Simply put, this is a beautiful property that is terribly managed.

Beautiful building furnished in antiques. Room was charming. Sheer curtains, bright outside lights, room never got dark. Shabby, a bit grimy, wobbly sink and faucet. Chose the room for the clawfoot bathtub but there was no plug. Cheapest 1-ply tissues and TP. Lightbulb over sink was out. Pink nail polish splattered on wall, toothpaste splatters on medicine cabinet. Overall, glad I finally got to see the inside of the building after decades of looking up the hill at it, but my sleepless night there killed the charm of the place.

Worth The Visit
We went for a murder mystery dinner & overnight stay. The dinner was a blast! The hotel is super cute & the staff is very friendly. Great couples night get away!

I have already contacted the property with no response which is a whole other issue. However, from the start we felt that we were second priority to any other patron. They had a murder mystery dinner and rather than designating guest parking we were forced to park about a half mile walk away and then walk up the icy entrance slope. We dined at the restaurant and again service was slow to accommodate their event, but we were told they were opening only briefly so that it would not interfere with our dining experience. It did. Service was ridiculously slow, drinks alone took almost fifteen minutes, food came out cool, and our waitress would disappear for long periods of time, just disappointing for the amount of money we spent. We had the Maple Tree room, which was nice for the whirlpool tub, but the room itself was tiny and the tub stopper did not seal well and it took almost an hour to fill. Finally, to top off all the other disappointments, I had sprung for the romance package, which included breakfast in bed. Turns out the room was too small so it was just all sorts of awkward and to really add insult to injury they messed up both entrees and we didn’t get to receive the correct ones for almost an hour. Because the dishes were just dropped off rather than presented I had to go hunt down the waitress to get the entrees fixed. They offered complimentary mimosas to compensate, but honestly at that point the mark has been missed so far that it did little to nothing for me.

Exceptional 10.0
Service oriented staff, romantic atmosphere, everything you need is at the castle (restaurant, massage services, hot tub, and a room :)). We stayed in the dutch room, the floor of the room had little lights in the floor (nice touch), the bed was super comfortable, the room is a good size and plenty of room. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back next year. (Just note, the hot tub on the roof is only available if massages aren't scheduled or you book it as part of your massage). We didn't use the hot tub because we couldn't use the hot tub until 8:30-9:00 and we wanted to go out.

Such a great place to stay. Food was awesome. Room was awesome. They were super friendly to my dog. We didn’t want to leave. I can’t imagine why anyone would stay in a typical hotel room when you can stay in a castle.

Property is an historic site; rooms are interesting and unique. Problem is they was to be a "boutique hotel" but are clueless about service. Check in was horrible, room information had typos and incorrect English, breakfast service was minimal, no basics like salt and pepper, or butter and jam let alone niceties; roof access to the hot tub was blocked if someone was in the spa.... The only thing they stresses were their rules and how you could upgrade and spend more money, Then they asked for a tip!!!

My son and I stayed here for one night and we loved it. The property is unique and just what we were expecting. I would stay again if I am ever in the area.
