The location is amazing. Having lived in New York, I can tell you, this is one of the best spots to stay in in Manhattan. It is conveniently close to everything but far enough away from the really crowded spots so you don’t get woken up in the middle of the night.

Unbelievable poor customer service
We arrived at our hotel after a trans-Atlantic flight from Italy to find out that Holiday Inn gave away our room. Granted , we were not reachable by phone, but there were no messages or texts on my phone. I was able to discover this mishap while riding in our $150 cab from JFK, where I was starting to retrieve my Emails. When I arrived at the hotel, they informed me that they ran the credit card that I used to reserve the “ guaranteed “ room earlier that day, and because it was near its limit, cancelled our reservation. We were using that Hotels.com credit card while traveling because it did not charge fees for the European exchange rate. Our intention was to pay our room with a separate card upon arrival, as this room was to be paid on site. The clerk was very rude to us, and did not offer any accommodation. He replied that the hotel was sold out, and it was their” policy” to perform in this manner.

Nightmare of a Stay
I was told parking was included but it WAS NOT. The clerk who checked me told me to park across the street, a Sunday. He NEVER said anything about the spot being a commercial spot with NO PARKING during the weekdays so I got a parking ticket for $115. The manager was rude when I explained the situation and sent me to a parking garage a block away when they were two on the same street as the hotel. That cost me$108. I also advised the hotel that I would be checking in late and they advised me that that was ok. When I arrived the clerk said they gave my room away and put me in a room in the basement area.
