Restaurant food was awful at a fine dining price rage. Menu was not the same as the on line menu. If we knew that beforehand we would have dined elsewhere. Food was so bad that there will be no second chance and we stay in the vicinity a couple weeks a year. Room was clean and spacious.
It has been a long time since we stayed at the Ashworth and we decided to stay on Friday evening after going to a clients house in Hampton. We Checked into the hotel and immediately went out to eat (off the premises). We did not go up to the room until we got back after midnight. The gentleman at the front desk had tole me there was an underground garage, but failed to tell me there was only about 12 spots and that there was no sign except a private property, violaters will be towed. Very confusing. We we get up to our room there was a dirty towel on the floor of the bathroom! (There was no way I was going to take a shower in there). The worst part was we were trying to go to sleep and a very loud group went out on their balcony at 12:30 and was so loud we could not get to sleep. I had to call the front desk twice and the girl that answered the phone was perturbed with me for calling!! She said she would go up again to tell them to quiet down. I asked if there was any security at the hotel that could go speak with them, I did not get an answer only a rude response. The group finally went in off their balcony at 2:00 a.m. I will never stay at the Ashworth again.
The room was tiny and smelled like sewage. We went another time and paid maybe a little less and got a beautiful room that was spacious, but not this time. Not impressed.....
Dirty rooms and the pool water was murky.
We knew coming in that the Ashworth was an old hotel so we expected what we got. It was very clean. The first room we were given smelled of cigarette smoke. They moved us immediately without question. Our second room was fine.
Loved having an ocean-facing room with a balcony. Nice amenities, good size bathroom. Little market next to front desk was wells stocked. Pool was locked, but the engineer came to open it for us once requested. We were the only ones there. The pool room was warm, and the pool itself wasn't cold, which was nice. Pool was a bit dingy, and water was dripping from the ceiling. Overall, we'd go back.
Front desk was super friendly and the waitresses at Wharfside were fantastic. We were very disappointed with our service at the Breakers. Placed order, waited the 15 minutes plus and extra 10 only to be told they didn’t have what we ordered and we need to pick something else. Placed new order, waited 25 minutes then an additional 25 minutes only to get two of the orders incorrect. They were fish plates to go and a burger with fries. We weren’t provided tarter sauce or ketchup, utensils or napkins. Very disappointed after waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes for food.
Great service, great time, amazing view of ocean.
My first clue was upon arrival, the front door was broken and I had to assist in opening a very, very heavy automatic door. Very disappointed that an ocean view means you have to go out onto the balcony and look around the corner. I felt deceived and told the front desk. The tub didn't keep water in it and the bed sunk in in the middle. Was changed to an actual ocean view (book ocean front if you go). Bed sunk in the middle. Food/trash around bed that was not my own. And the smell of cigar smoke knocked me out. I was tempted to go home but kept the heat on high and the sliding door open. The closet door was broken so I couldn't pull out the luggage stand. The balcony lights stay on and mess up photos for sunrise. The rooms were very dark with no overhead lights and dingy lamps and not enough lamps. The balcony lights were better than the room lights. I feel bad for the people who paid more than $100 a night, including myself. I feel like I waited my money.. It's not worth more than that. An upgrade would change that. For the parking, I insisted on self parking. During the off season, parking is free everywhere in Hampton. I was told the resort fee is not due during the off season. Food is expensive but alright. I was hoping to bring my daughter back for a getaway a couple of times but I won't. The view I had was pretty good. People are very nice and making do with what they are given but I will not be back.
Great room!
