Loved location, staff and service. Rooms a bit dated, but very comfortable beds.

The rooms are a nice size, but really in need of an update. The beds were terrible, I could feel the springs from the mattress sticking in my back as I tried to sleep. Very uncomfortable and difficult to get a decent night's sleep. The minibar was empty and the sheets were old and warn. There was WIFI in the room but it was very slow. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food passable, so this is a mixed review.

Ok they advertise as Hotel Monarque Torreblanca but actually Hotel Torreblanca confusing after drive to it! Room cleaned four times in the week bed made one day but card left in door it looked like the cleaners had been interrupted! Breakfast ok always the same tea coffee water juice. We went half board and at dinner no tea or coffee or water you had to pay if you wanted that! I asked for tap water and had to have an argument to get it!!! Water should be on the tables it’s a basic human need so was not happy they charged two euros for a bottle! So to be clear if you are half board there is not tea coffe or water available!!! Hotel was tired looking the air con was so loud. Very disappointed

Location is approximately 30 seconds walk from front door round to left and you are at the train stop which is ideal if you are heaving round bulky luggage! This is worth the price of admission alone. Hotel rooms are very large, bright and airy and every room has its own balcony and oodles of storage space. Breakfast is excellent with great choise and variety. A 5 minute walk brings you down the hill on to the main esplanade with the beach, restaurants, bars right there which stretch from Carvahal to the left and to Fuengirola Castle and town to the right.

We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly return. The bedrooms were very comfortable and night entertainment was good ----you cannot expect West End shows. I had read mixed reviews re the food quality and was a little anxious---however we enjoyed the food and always found something that suited us--I wonder what some people expect from a hotel who is catering for such large numbers---if people expect gourmet meals I suggest they go out to 5 star restaurants and pay the price. As somebody who does a lot of homebaking and cooking myself I was very happy. Also a special word of appreciation to Letitia on reception who was so helpful and courteous. I would certainly return to this hotel .It was great to be so near train station for transfers from airport and daily trips.

This was a lovely trip all round, made doubly so by having somewhere quiet, clean and comfortable to come back to. As I travel on foot, the Torreblanca being literally a few yards from the train station was a distinct advantage. Didn't eat there so can't comment on food, but staff were friendly and helpful, and atmosphere very welcoming. Perfect location for walking along the beach front, excellent local shops and restaurants. The room itself was huge, with a well-equipped bathroom and balcony overlooking the sights and sounds of the town, and a fridge - a must for keeping water chilled in a hot climate. For me - travelling on foot, not having a great deal of Spanish, and travelling as a lone female - this was the perfect base to explore a new area. I felt safe, secure and left to my own devices as much as I wanted to be, but there was always someone around if you needed to ask anything. All in all I wish I could've stayed longer, and will definitely go back.

When we checked into our rooms we discovered that we were given a twin room opposed to a double room as requested. When we questioned this no effort was made to rectify the error, being told in a very off-handed manner that we'd have to wait until the following morning. We quickly made the decision that the hotel weren't going to bother moving us, otherwise they would never have given us a twin room in the first place. The beds themselves were extremely hard and the pillow each bed had was extremely soft, giving no neck support at all. The room was lacking basic features, such as a clock/alarm, instructions on how to use the phone, no answerphone service and no list of hotel charges. The in room safe clearly hadn't been changed since the building was built- I think it would barely accomodate a netbook, so don't even think about taking a laptop to the hotel. The walls and ceilings were relatively thin, and we could hear what was happening in the adjacent rooms most of the time. While this is due to the age of the building, one wonders why the hotel hasn't installed sound-proofing to their rooms. On the plus side, the hotel was clean and barely a five minute walk from the beach, but that isn't enough to cover up the fact that this is either a poor three star hotel, or a decent two star hotel.

I think the hotel was quite okay for the price; sufficiently clean (except for the balcony), quiet and spacious. What I didn't like was the breakfast: there were a lot of alternatives but the quality was not too good (especially the juices and coffee were really bad). Since the price was okay, I would consider staying there again, and having breakfast somewhere else.

The hotel was clean, airy and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and polite. I would have no problem in recommending this to any one who asked.
