We booked a one-night stay at Elcot Park and, overall, came away feeling that the hotel has so much potential. There were some genuinely wonderful parts of our stay, particularly the spa treatments, food, outdoor spaces and the lovely staff. However, there were also several areas that didn’t quite meet the standard we would expect from somewhere marketed as a luxury boutique hotel.
We arrived at around 9am and paid extra to have early access to the spa before our room was ready. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, as it was a beautiful sunny day during a heatwave. This meant we could spend the morning relaxing around the outdoor pool before having lunch and our treatments. The outdoor area is lovely when the weather is good and made for a very relaxing start to our stay.
The pool loungers could do with some attention, however, as a number of them were looking quite worn and in poor condition. It is a relatively small detail, but these are the sorts of things you notice when staying somewhere that positions itself as a luxury property. The outdoor setting itself is beautiful, so refreshing or replacing some of the furniture would make a noticeable difference.
We were particularly grateful for the good weather because the indoor spa area is fairly small. There were only around four loungers immediately beside the indoor pool, so I imagine it could feel quite crowded on a rainy or colder day when everyone is wanting to be inside. There are additional relaxation lounges
