Short but pleasant stay
Was in town for my niece's wedding and my Mom amd I stayed here at the Astoria for 2 nights. While old, the hotel was built in 1925, it is quaint, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The attached pub, The D'ed Dog Bar & Grill was amazing. Hotel is perfectly located. Only downside was hotel didn't own its parking lot, but with that said, parking rates between 9am amd 9pm were quite reasonable.

Good choice for location
Pros - outstanding location, friendly staff (especially morning), easy to find Cons - no parking (have to use the public lot across the street and pay for parking), dated (but clean) and the room was a bit than expected. Overall this is a convenient hotel right in the heart of downtown.

Centrally located but in need of update
Standard room was very small. King bed (comfortable) took up most of it. No wardrobe. As we we were touring we had several suitcases so this was a bit of a challenge! No elevator so had to carry suitcases upstairs to room. Washbasin was in the bedroom and there was a tiny ensuite shower+toilet room. Decor was very tired throughout. Coffee machine in room didn't work. No kettle provided, though available from reception. Overall poor value for £200 a night - decent breakfast, but not included in price (fair to note that this was significantly cheaper than our hotel in Banff, so may just be the going rate for region!)
