Pure, understated luxury and spectacular service

Our anniversary stay at the Pendry has pretty much ruined all future hotels for me. We had some complications when booking and showed up extra late at night, exhausted and just hoping we wouldn’t have to switch rooms a day in. But from the moment we walked in and were offered complementary spa water and cocktails, it was pretty clear the staff didn’t settle for doing “just” anything. Jun at the front desk was amazing and actually upgraded us to a one bedroom suite instead—by far the most gorgeous, luxurious and comfortable room I’ve ever stayed in. I literally cannot gush about the decor and architecture enough—the pictures don’t even do it justice (our room had a fiddle leaf fig tree!). It also sounds like they generally try to upgrade folks when rooms are available, which is just a lovely policy—and seems to reflect their overall passion for impeccable hospitality. From the front desk to room service, housekeeping and doormen, the staff were never anything short of incredible. We also loved the two on-site bars, which were surprisingly distinct and equally fantastic in both ambiance and cocktails, and the coffee shop downstairs was really nice in the morning. I can’t believe I spent so long debating between different hotels before booking at the Pendry—there’s a reason they’re on every list of top hotels in Manhattan. Thanks for a truly unforgettable anniversary trip!!
