The price reflects the experience
Overall our experience wasn’t positive for a couple reasons. Starting with the good, the staff were helpful and kind, and the room was overall very clean. Also it was cheap. We had a couple problems with the room, firstly the shower wouldn’t drain unless left for minutes. This led to a shower experience that would be stop and start in order to drain the water. Next, the air conditioning unit was leaking and woke us up at 12:30am. We had to call reception and they brought us towels to put down to soak up the water and we had to turn off the air conditioning to prevent further flooding. Our room, number 61 (we might be misremembering the room number) was right next to where breakfast was served - if you’re told you’re on lower ground floor do not accept it - especially room 61 - this made our mornings have an abrupt wake up call. Upon checking out our experience wasn’t queried even though the hotel was aware of our negative experience. The hotel is also quite close to the train station but far out from the hustle and bustle of Florence. Walking back from the centre felt unsafe at night. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a friend.

I absolutely loved my stay at La Fortezza. It has everything you could want for a very reasonable price and was very comfortable. The room had wifi, air conditioning, a safe, and even had a little terrace! There’s always someone on and and they were always friendly and respectful. It felt like a home base rather than a basic shelter. I highly recommend this hotel.
