2/10 Poor
19 September 2023
Terrible value, shabby & unbearable nightly noise
On arrival queued for over half an hour to be attended to. Check in was chaotic for dozens of guests arriving, including us, with many people sat in reception waiting.
Finally, our turn and Oscar was uninterested, unfriendly and unwelcoming.
Then told to wait 15 mins as room not ready (now 2.45pm check in 3pm), no offer to look after bags even though another hour passed before getting key with no apology for the delay or the inconvenience.
We entered the room 1202 and it was occupied - embarrassing and unsettling. So back downstairs to a very 'not bothered' attitude by Oscar. Again,no apology and asked to see the duty manager and told it wasn't possible but will be in touch. It never happened even though we put a call in two more times during the stay to speak with the manager.
The room was tired and shabby and considering it was a 'premium room' it was underwhelming and expensive.
Room 1002 and North facing and situated above 2 or 3 open air 'discos' that start at around 6pm playing drum and base, gradually getting louder until 3/4am in the morning.
We were assured after the first night it was noisy as it was 'independence day'.
But, it was unbearable and every day/night very little sleep because of the music/screaming/singing from the bars below.
We actually bought earplugs but did little to drown out the excessive noise. Awful
