Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Near Universal Orlando - Orlando

Not bad. We spent one night and room was ok for us. Free breakfast was good but area is small. Too many people at the same time and employees slow to replenish food. Parking was not a big issue.

This place would have been very nice if it had not been for the tiny ants that were all over well wrapped goodies we had purchased from Universal the night before. We were on the 6th floor, so I am concerned that this ant issue is a larger issue than a single exterminator (what they sent up as we were leaving) can fix. While receptive and quick to respond to our concern, the staff made no effort to make up for the inconvenience and loss of purchases. In fact, when face to face during check out, the staffer I spoke with to give a little more information regarding the ants barely acknowledged my presence. I do want to mentioned that the evening desk staffer was very pleasant and accommodating and I think our morning experience would have been much better if she'd been involved. Not affiliated with the hotel, but worth a mention, the exterminator from Massey was excellent. Apart from the ant issue, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean and showed very little if any wear. The AC worked very well. The pool, though small, was clean and well kept. I did not see inside the fitness room, but it also appeared well maintained from the outside. The pool towels are far too small, but that seems to be a theme among Orlando/Kissimmee hotels and likely due to potential theft. The hot tub was a good size, clean, and well maintained. Lots of convenient food sources, including fast food, a food mart, and a Miller's Ale house in easy walking distance. Super close to Universal Resort.
