Didn't get a good rest because of noisy heating
We chose the Embassy Hotel as it hear to the FHI conference centre, and unfortunately, the Hilton was sold out. The hotel does have its own charm, and it is near du pont circle with a good peaceful neighbourhood and food options. However, I didn't have a good nights sleep in my 4 night stay at the hotel because of the old heating system. I took a red-eye 24 hour flight from Asia, so I was really looking forward to a deep sleep but I woke up 5 times on the 1st night because everytime the heater came on, it sounded like an airconditioning compressor was activated inside your room stashed away in the ceiling. The trembling rumbling sound just kept waking me up. I had requested for a quiet room, and it was away from the elevator and near the end of a corridor, but this compressor thing was really bad especially during the dead quiet of the night. On the 2nd night, I switched off the heating which was a big mistake, as halfway I woke up freezing and had to turn the heating back on. I told reception on 3 separate days as I left for my meetings, and each time they said they will get an engineer to look at it. There was no significant improvement. The best I had was waking up twice in the night on the 4th night. Unfortunately, I didn't get a good rest and with the flight and timezone difference, I lost 2 nights worth of sleep over 6 days.

    Good stay in DC
Great and flexible service with nice coffee served downstairs. Only downside was there was no mini fridge in the room? Other than that, it was a comfy stay!

We were incredibly disappointed with our stay at the embassy. The customer service is one of the worsts I've ever experienced. We had spoken to the hotel before driving down (coming from Toronto so about 10 hour drive) and asked if we can check in at 3:00 AM specifically. We were told yes we can and that they would put a block on our room so it's available. We show up at 3:00 am and the lady at the front desk incredibly rudely says they don't have space for us. Now we were left scrambling for another place to spend the night. Found a hotel which cost us double what we were paying at the Embassy Row. Will not be recommending this hotel to anyone or coming back to stay unfortunately.

    Great D.C. hotel
We really liked this hotel. The location was terrific in a beautiful part of D.C. with a lot to see and do. It was casual with a quirky decor and a great rooftop pool, deck and bar. Valet parking was easy and the staff were great.
