Resort review
Stayed for 4 nights here all inclusive, I booked ocean view but got a view of the parking lot they claimed it was the “best room” NOT. Our first room somethings didn’t work & soap dispensers broke while taking a shower. Also got woken up to LOUD drilling/ working next door first morning at about 7am. My boyfriend upgraded us to royal members & got us a different/ better room 2nd day after $400 later with a great full ocean view SAME floor. We tried to upgrade first day at main concierge desk but receptionist lied/ acted like she didn’t want to so we went to the 9th floor ourself. All in all food was amazing at every restaurant but we didn’t try to the Mexican one. The entertainment was pretty nice as well! Resort was a nice size, beautiful iguanas walking around! It was a nice resort, would come back.

Would stay here again
The wait staff are great. The beach is awesome with a bunch of included activities as well as options for activities to pay for. The food is pretty mediocre but it did the job for breakfast & lunch. I would find elsewhere to go for dinner - there are so many restaurants on the island. There are shows every night in the ball room that were very entertaining. Overall, we had a great time!

Racism
While trying to dine in the Beach Club, Edwardo, chose not to serve me after I requested better shrimp cakes. They were fried hard. Mrs. Dale, hostess, noticed that he was purposely discriminating me amongst the other guest. That spoiled my entire trip. As for rooms.. the sink was clogged for days. Yes, I reported it on day one.

Needs more entertainment for guest. Was bored after the pool and beach. The other activities like tour of the island and water sports were too expensive. The pool was too crowded, not too many seating around the pool area. spent alot of time trying to find a seat.

Barcelo has an amazing beach, great area around it with many bards, restaurants, and shops. In addition, it has great service with great people and good eating options. The main bar is great and the main dinner restaurants are also great. This place does have a ridiculous towel policy and not enough options to just grabbing quick food at any time without having to get dressed up from the pool and beach.
