I did not like having to go to the Breathless side for dining where we had to blend in with the noisy crowd and no longer felt VIP service. Lack of clothes steamer and makeup mirror. Also the lights switches in room were confusing to use.

They had some form of entertainment every night, which was cool but outside of lounging at the pool/beach there was nothing else to do besides excursions. Eat and swim that's it and the food is subpar at best. The elevators in my building had the most horrific smell that never went away. It smelled like dead rodents were in there somewhere. But on the positive side, the staff is very friendly and they make you feel welcomed.

WHEN BOOKING, I FOUND IT SOMEWHAT DIFFICULT TO FIGURE OUT THE LAYOUT OF THE RESORT. AS WITH OTHER SECRETS RESORTS, IT IS CONNECTED TO BREATHLESS AND IF YOU BOOK SECRETS, YOU CAN SHARE ALL BREATHLESS AMMENITIES BUT IF YOU BOOK BREATHLESS, YOU CANNOT SHARE SECRETS AMMENITIES.THE SECRETS SIDE IS THE QUIETER COUPLES SIDE WHERE AS BREATHLESS IS THE MORE LIVELY PARTY SIDE FOR EVERYONE. THE RESORT IS ON THE SMALLER SIDE SO ALL AMMENITIES ARE WITHIN AN EASY WALKING DISTANCE. ONLY ONE NEGATIVE AT LEAST FOR MY WIFE AND MYSELF, WAS THE FREE TOUR THAT INCLUDED A VISIT TO THE CANCUN SIGN ON THE BEACH FOR PICTURE TAKING, THAT WAS FINE, THEN OFF TO A JEWELRY EXCHANGE THAT WAS VERY HIGH END AND INCLUDED A TEQUILA TASTING STATION. EVERYTHING THERE WAS VERY OVER PRICED AND THE SALES STAFF WERE TOO AGGRESIVE. THE LAST PART OF THE TOUR WAS TO A TYPICAL SHOPPING MALL THAT WE ALL HAVE AT HOME. NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED AND IT COST US 4 HOURS OF PRECIOUS TIME AWAY FROM OUR RESORT. WE WOULD HAVE PREFERRED A TRIP TO THE LOCAL VENDORS IN TOWN WHERE THEY SELL ITEMS MADE IN MEXICO. OTHER THAN THE TOUR, IT WAS AN AMAZING TRIP THAT WE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This one should stay a secret!
Worst experience ever! Booked a grand master swim out tropical view and was ‘upgraded’ to an ocean front. The ocean front is literally at the end of the resort with zero service, looks directly onto a car park/rubbish dumping ground. Reason for the ‘upgrade’ was becuase they sold the room type I booked! Room : was ok, but just ok at best. Pool : the swim out pool is an infinity pool that is broken, the water level is drained about half a foot so it’s no longer ‘infinity’ style. Food : pathetic! It’s like the purchasing manager was sourcing the cheapest nastiest ingredients and trying to polish them up to something edible but failing. The sushi however was great. Drinks : be prepared to get what they want to make you, no 2 will ever be the same and forget about asking for a particular brand of drink, when they think it’s late enough and you won’t notice it’s back to serving the rocket fuel local moonshine. Staff : Not empowered to deal with guests complaints. Managers no where to be seen, promise to call but never do. Seriously, I’ve stayed at MANY Secrets and AM Resorts and this one is nothing like any other. Am Resorts should be ashamed of this resort in their portfolio.
