poor condition
disaster stay- room 1, got new keys 3 times and didn’t work. front desk came to unlock room and master key didn’t work. they moved us to a 2nd room and carpet was soaking wet and smelly. then they upgraded us to a suite (front desk clerk was nice and tried to resolve our problems). AC was not working in the suite.

Stayed Many Times – Things Getting Worse
This is our go to place to stay when we go to Chicago because we have family that lives on the northwest side and we also lived there for a decade and are very familiar with the neighborhood. We used to really like this place not only because of the location, but because of the price and good service. Last night I had the worst check-in experience in recent memory. When I arrived, they said they didn't have my room type available, which was a king room on a high floor. The person behind the counter asked me to take a seat in the lobby and they would let me know when it was available. I sat there for a half an hour and watched people get checked in and checked in and checked in. Finally frustrated, I went to the counter and kindly but firmly asked what was going on with my room. The person behind the counter who I spoke to seem to have forgotten that I was even there and asked for my name again. Then it seems they had completely forgotten why they had me sit in the first place, so I had to remind them about the high floor and housekeeping. When I relayed that I was crunched for time because I had to pick up my daughter shortly, the person got all defensive and gave me an excuse as to why things were the way they were. I'm very disappointed because this place used to be nice, but it seems like everything has gone to hell the past two years. I know pandemic has affected a lot of people, but when you're paying over $200 for a room it can be really upsetting.
