There are 3 options for onsen--2 include outdoor baths. We opted to include breakfast and it was gorgeous and delicious. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Location was a bit off the main area but easy to get to and lovely. We had a wonderful stay!

Avoid at all costs
One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at, the location was terrible, the staff was not friendly or helpful. The price was horrendous, not worth staying here at all. I wouldn't stay at this hotel if you paid me to, it was so uncomfortable and the cost to taxi to and from the train station is very pricey. Also the food in their restaurant is bad.

Stayed a night at Ajisai Onsen Ryokan and it was a great and comfortable stay. The staff was helpful and nice and allowed us to leave our luggage at the facility before the check in time at 4pm. It came with 3 types of private Onsen which has to be booked beforehand for an hour use in the evening and in the morning. Breakfast set was good too. Lily was helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended. Do take notes it’s a steep climb up to the location and it will be difficult with a lot of luggage.
