At check-in I was told there was no room ready because the one that was pre-assigned was one of the few that was occupied. The front desk manager fixed the issue. Is just a good example of staff not being customer centric.

Property not kept up, missing tiles in floors, stairs outside, inside. Hazardous! Bathrooms not clean, spiders in bathrooms where fernwalls have been installed. Slippery floors when showering (almost broke my neck). The water bottles are not cleaned properly! Just gross. The staff was not very helpful when asking for parking or general restaurant recommendations. 0/5 stars. Will not be back, won’t recommend.

The hotel is in a good location close to shopping center and bus stops. There's an Albert Heijn supermarket about 100m away. Rooms are nice, bed is comfortable, rooms are well kept. There's nespresso like machine and different flavours of tea available in the rooms. Property doesnt have a wheelchair accessible entrance at the front. There's no restaurant in the hotel but there is a japanese one attached to it. There's no cutlery or dinnerware in rooms if you want to eat a takeaway.

One of the strangest hotels I’ve been to.

Booked two nights here. We arrived at 11pm with two sleeping children aged 7 and 4. Struggled to find it but that may be our fault. First impressions not great. Very shabby entrance - broken steps, smashed glass in the door and the smell of vomit as you went in. Reception very odd. Think youth hostel meets bail hostel meets nice reception desk. Went to check in. Lady behind the counter stopped sipping her McDonalds soft drink to tell me that they had changed our family room (booked several months ago) for two separate twin rooms. No apology. I said I did not think it acceptable. Why had nobody even called us? With two sleeping children at 11pm, there was little I could do. We went to unload - there’s no proper parking place outside by the way, should that cause problems. Night porter just watched as my partner struggled with doors. Cue a few trips up in the lift (slight urine smell). Corridors upstairs were just odd. Everywhere is lino flooring - even in the bedrooms - and one of the main doors didn’t work on our floor, causing a minor detour. We ended up moving two mattresses to one room and sleeping on the floor. We had booked two nights but checked out after only one (never done in 40 years!), given the room situation. Trying to get a reduction in the room rate was a farce. We were told that the discount promised by the receptionist couldn’t in fact be honoured because we had a superior room! Even though that was hardly our fault. We got some money off ultimately.

Nice to stay there, even though...

The bed is very comfortable. Nice toiletries in the bathroom. Great location, right in the center of Hilversum. The bathroom isn't heated so therefore quite cold. After showering, the entire bathroom is soaking wet because of the narrow open shower stall. Why would one design it like that? You have to dry the floor after you've showered. The floor of the hotel room is cold so bring slippers! The rug underneath the bed serves little purpose since it more or less stops at the feet of the bed. It's a shame there is no seating in the room (we stayed in the Superior room), even though there would be room for a couple of comfortable chairs and little table. Little room for hanging things, there were only a few wire hangers. One wonders who did the interior design for such a gorgeous landmark building. The glass of the front door and tiles of the entrance steps have been broken since I stayed here over a year ago! Despite these criticisms it's a nice 'cool' looking hotel designed by a famous architect. I wish they would go the 'extra mile' to make it truly great. They need help with the interior design.

    Tight and watery stay

Small small room, typical for Europe. Shower had no door or curtain so my bathroom floor was constantly underwater and the water went into the room a couple of times. Almost no place to put your items (clothes, gadgets and the like). Lived in my suitcase for 2 weeks.
