Brilliant Stay and Dead Sea experience
Fantastic desert location in an oasis of greenery and botanical gardens overlooking the Dead Sea and mountains. Room was very nice, clean with a veranda to enjoy the mountain views. Restaurant had a great choice for evening meal as well breakfast on the veranda overlooking the mountains - the food really was very good. Lovely on-site spa with salt water pool pumped up from the Dead Sea - very strange first time experience of so much buoyancy - difficult to stand up as legs kust want to float! Highly recommend a spa massage treatment to rejuvenate the body after days of walking around religious and historical sites. Also drove to the Dead Sea spa 5km away for a fun float, sulpur shower and mud bath. Great first time experience. This spa is much better than the beach spa's in the north of the Dead Sea - well worth the longer drive to get to, especially if you visit Masada, just south of Ein Gedi.

Nice natural and relaxing place by Dead Sea,
Overall I enjoyed Ein Gedi more than than Ein Bokek. It was more relaxed and natural. However the amenities are not as luxurious and there are bugs: spiders and cockroaches in the room. It's part of being in a garden atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast were good, no complaints. We would have liked more time to visit the garden and Ein Gedi park but sadly traffic through Jerusalem meant we arrived later than planned. I also enjoyed the Dead Sea mud. Again the "spa" wasn't as luxurious as the south end, but rustic and less touristy.

    we really appreciated
A very nice place in the Dead Sea area. It’s in a nice kibbutz with a botanical garden. Rooms are ok, the common parts are very nice. Compliments for the restaurant: food is home made and really good! It’s a pity we spent there only 1 night.

The Kibbutz is beautiful and very relaxing. The food was ok but not great. Parking is a problem, and we had to call the front desk several times before someone would answer, but when we had a problem with the tv, they had someone come to fix it quickly. Overall, the experience was good.

    Front desk personnel need training
The Ein Gedi hotel is the middle of nowhere overlooking the dead sea. The faciliates are outdated n over priced, in mi opinion. Having said that, the room where we stayed was clean n modern with a porch. The spa was great with sweet water and dead sea water pools, sauna, steam bath and refreshments; all these, with a fantastic view of the dead sea n the nearby mountains. Restaurant is kibbutz style, bar at lobby was more appealing to us, they also serve food. Hotel is near dead sea beach and Mazada (a must place to visit n hike). All the good appeal of this hotel was tainted by the unprofessional behavior of the front desk attendant when we arrived, Ben Simon, who miss treated, argued n berated us when we asked to be guided to our room because we could not find it. (The other front dedk assistant was fantastic, ironically, she was on training) The customer relations manager try to remedy situation n was very kind to us. Would consider hotel to comeback but will look at other options; not sure if there are any.......
