Small but comfy beds
We needed a room for two parents and a teenager. The beds were super comfortable. The room was very tight (small). No privacy for bathroom or shower. If you aren’t shy, that is no problem. One towel was left in the room for the three of us. Had to go to lobby to purchase bottled water. Staff was very helpful and nice. Glad we stayed there. Close to the tube. Toni’s a cafe across the street was excellent! Opens at 6am for breakfast. Love Roni’s. The Yotel happily stored our luggage after check out. Our room was ready a few hours early. I would stay there again.

6/10 Good

The location is decent but not great for my tastes. It’s centrally accessible via public transit, and getting to city center is not too difficult. But the area just around the hotel is quiet and not all that interesting. That could be a feature or a bug depending on your perspective. But the big problem with this hotel, at least the room I found myself in, is an utter lack of natural light. There was one window, in the bathroom, behind a full blackout curtain. This makes the room feel quite cave-like, perhaps even prison-like. It was so dark that I slept fully on till 11am because it might as well have been 2am for all the light available in the room. Even if it’s fully sunny (unlikely in London) with the window fully open, no light will reach the bedroom because the window opened to a plain brick wall about 2 feet from the glass. It’s good if you want to sleep a lot. Otherwise, I suggest setting a powerful alarm.

4/10 Fair

What an epic fail...
Location was superb, and staff was fantastic, but the rooms - OMFG! In my pic you can see like 70% of the space... Claustrophobic, terrible light, my view was to a wall of bricks and I couldn't even open the window to get some fresh air (room was heated to inhuman levels). I took 2 rooms for an overall number of 17 nights, and I won't repeat that mistake. (Oh, great espresso at the lobby - avoid the horrible cocktails!!)

Greatly exceeded my expectations
I spent nine nights at the Yotel London City during a business trip in January 2023. I chose the Yotel because of its convenient location and reasonable price. I expected it to be adequate for my needs. In fact, it was the best business hotel I've ever stayed at. Despite being relatively small, the room was extremely well laid out. Everything fit together like a well-designed jigsaw puzzle. The bed was quite comfortable, the shower worked perfectly, the shelving, refrigerator, heating, WiFi, and workout room in the basement all met my needs very well. Best of all, when the blinds were down, the room was completely dark. It was also nearly entirely silent. These last two factors were particularly important, as I wanted to take a few days to sleep in, to recover from jet lag. The Yotel staff were very helpful, yet unobtrusive. I didn't eat anything at the bar, but appreciated that there were two mini-markets (Tesco Express and Waitrose) within a 3-5 minute walk out the back door. Riding buses and subways was exceptionally easy. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, and the Farringdon tube stop is a few minutes' walk away.

We enjoyed the very relaxed atmosphere, the quiet location and short walk to Faringdon station (which gets you just about anywhere quickly).

2 nights in the City
We love the hotel which is design, interesting, original and comfortable. Staff members were nice & helpful. Loved the area, walking distance from Smithfield Market, Farrington, the City etc. Also many interesting & affordable restaurants around.

2/10 Poor

Cramped rooms, w/ the world’s most annoying light
Well, the breakfast wasn’t bad, but the rooms are profoundly cramped, and you can definitely find better for the same price nearby. Worst though, there’s a STUPID light behind the TV that has a motion sensor on it, so turns on and wakes you up if you happen to roll over. So a very poor night’s sleep was had. A glib apology from the lady at the desk in the morning saying that we clearly hadn’t found the right light switch most certainly didn’t fix things. Definitely won’t be staying there again.
