Affordable accommodation close to all action

It was a comfortable peaceful place in Varadero and I am glad I opted for it. Couldn't ask for a better location it's very close to beautiful beaches all restaurants and shopping places. We were welcomed warmly by the hosts and they got rooms ready in a quick manner considering we booked the rooms on arrival. The whole surrounding area is quiet a short walk and you are on the beach. Varadero beaches are probably the best in whole Cuba. Highly recommended if you don't want to break your bank to have an outing in Varadero.

This casa is in perfect location for walking around varadero, 5 mint walk to the beach and 10 mint to centro. The hosts are a nice family and waited for me until mid night when i arrived late. Only small inconvenience i found is there was no toiletries not even something to wash my hands when i arrived.

The owner and his family are friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in had a big comfortable bed. The bathroom looked relatively new and very clean. The room itself seemed well insulated from heat. Overall we are satisfied with our stay at Casa Elena y Leslie.

We booked for two nights but we were moved to a neighbor for the first night (with a less nice room that couldn't be locked). Stay at this casa was comfortable, location is good and the room was nice and clean, with a little terrace in front. What the owner didn't mention, was that he runs a pizza delivery service (too bad, we would have enjoyed that!) from the backyard. He got us a great (classic) cab to the airport though!

Nice location in a secluded neighbourhood. The room is very basic, with a fridge, air condition and a TV with one or 2 channels (I had to use the AC batteries to make it work). Bathroom OK. The host is not very communicative. On checking out I asked him to call for a taxi, he recommended that I just walk to the main avenue and look out for taxis. If you just want to spend a night, it is OK but don't expect any services.

Bei unserer Ankunft im „Casa Elena & Leslies“ wurde uns - ohne begrüßt zu werden - mitgeteilt, dass unser für eine Woche gebuchtes Zimmer aufgrund eines angeblichen Wasserschadens erst am nächsten Tag zur Verfügung stehen würde. Ersatzweise bekamen wir ein Zimmer im Haus gegenüber angeboten, das in keiner Weise dem in der Website beschriebenen Angebot und schon gar nicht dem Preis von 60USD pro Nacht entsprach. Es handelte sich eher um eine Besenkammer, klein, ungemütlich und als Ersatz völlig unangemessen. Wir ließen uns daraufhin „unser“ Zimmer in der „Casa Elena… „ zeigen, das offensichtlich bewohnt, allerdings in einem unordentlichen und verdreckten Zustand war! Wir waren gezwungen, uns auf die Schnelle eine andere Unterkunft zu suchen, was uns nur aufgrund einer sehr hilfsbereiten Frau aus der Nachbarschaft, die uns ein Zimmer für zwei Nächte anbieten konnte, gelang. Wir hatten im weiteren Verlauf große und nicht akzeptable Unannehmlichkeiten und einen großen Zeitaufwand bei der Suche nach einem freien Zimmer und mussten in dieser Woche vier Mal (!) umziehen. Offensichtlich ist unsere negative Erfahrung mit dem „Casa Elena…“ kein Einzelfall! Wenigstens zwei Rezensionen berichten von identischen Erfahrungen. Wir können nur dringend davon abraten, diese Unterkunft zu buchen.

Die Inhaber sind sehr nett jedoch etwas zurückhaltend, bedeutet sie kommen nicht von sich aus auf einem zu. Wenn man sie jedoch nach etwas fragt sind sie sehr hilfsbereit und ermöglichen einen so gut wie alles.
