Good hotel but extremely rude and poor staff
Hotel great, but staff very rude. Right at the checkout time (10am) the staff starts calling to the room to ask when are you leaving and becoming very pushy. As I started bringing down bags to ask for help to store them, the guy at the front desk (didn’t get his name but was on device on Aug 9 in the morning), got annoyed that I wasn’t out already, took my key annoyed that I didn’t bring both and wasn’t checked out. When I mentioned I still needed the key to continue bringing down my bags, he got more annoyed and pretty much threw the key back to me to move faster and get my the things out. The concept of customer service definitely did not exist at this hotel. If it wasn’t for the lady at the front desk things would have gone very bad.

I loved the area. It is super close to a JR Yamanote line station but is very quiet and relaxed. Amazing food options nearby. I knew it would be a small room and was slightly surprused but I over time (took me 5 min) to see how amazing a small room is. It is all you need to be able to explore and experience Japan. When I come again I will for sure stay there again and fully recommend it again!

Tosei Hotel in Okachimachi is idealy located among trains, shopping and food. They have complimentary amenities which include toothbrushes, razors, cotton swabs in case you forgot to pack. Things that can't be helped is only 2 elevators servicing 19 floors and expect longer waits during checkin/checkout times. Laundry room contains a microwave, ice machine and drink vendor. Laundry machines wash and dries your laundry all in one and includes detergent. Only bad part is it can handle only small loads up to 3kg otherwise you will expect damp clothes even if you buy extra drying time. I had booked for 2 adults and 2 children on expedia and this hotel was part of the search. What I found out from other reviews and confirming with the hotel front desk thru email is that I was going to get only 2 pillows for the 2 twin bed and 2 sets of towels for the bathroom. This is not the fault of the hotel because from their point of view I was paying for 2 adults and the children are staying free. I blame Expedia for not explaining that. If I didn't contact the hotel, I would have shown up and argued about the missing pillows and towels. I ended up buying pillows at daiso and brought my own towels. Overall hotel was great, cleanliness was good(not under the bed tho), room cleaning when asked or towels provided, staff was helpfull but not all staff could speak english fluently so bring a translator app and you're set. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

The hotel is so close to JR and other local lines that it only takes around 5 mins to get there. Staff were polite and very helpful and after requesting a high floor was delighted to get the top floor which showed magnificent views of the city. The room was small but comfortable and quiet and very clean. So many restaurants surround the hotel that you are spoilt for choice. We also went to the Ueno Gardens and Zoo which were lovely to visit and the Zoo entry was only 600JY so well worth a good day out! I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
