Included amenities: Wifi, Welcome Pack, Toiletries, Area Tips, Cleaning, Fridge Fill Service, Cafetiere, 24/7 Support. Centre of the world: It’s said that all roads lead to Rome, and perhaps they do, in Italy, but here all roads very much lead to London, and specifically, St John Street. Perched atop a buzzing neighbourhood brasserie, this glowingly cosy Georgian flat is filled with treasures from all around the world. Think Moroccan rugs, European oil paintings and all manner of intriguing knick-knacks. Not that you’ll need to travel far to find fun. Nearby Upper Street is a-buzz with trendy bars and restaurants, and heaps of fabulous independent boutiques, while pretty Exmouth Market is just around the corner. Seasoned traveller: Your hostess has worked extensively in the photography and film industries, and lived all over the world. After fourteen years of dividing her time between London and Paris she’s about to take off again in search of adventure. At a crossroads: The building that houses St John Street used to be a pub called ‘The Empress of Russia’, and it was here that the term ‘World Music’ was first coined. Legend has it that a young Bob Dylan also played in the upstairs room – now your sitting room – and the destination of many a fan’s pilgrimage. Looking around at the terrific mix of styles, this eclectic history seems entirely appropriate – the carpets underfoot glow, and you’ll love the Arabic painted chest. The five large windows mean that the room is full of light – and one has a great view of the top deck of any passing bus! Next door, the master bedroom’s spicy and warm with more Persian rugs and an antique rocking chair, and there’s an adjoining ensuite bathroom with a freestanding shower and slick black tiles.: Onwards Nip over to the cinema at Angel, explore Chapel Market, or simply grab a bite to eat at one of Exmouth Market’s many restaurants – Moro, one of the UK’s top tapas destinations is so beloved, it’s even inspired its own range of cookbooks. Saddler’s Wells is a must for anyone who loves modern dance and ballet, or, if you’ve got tickets to the theatre, the tube from Angel to Covent Garden takes less than fifteen minutes.: Home Truths: - This home is above a brasserie on a busy crossroads. There's fantastic double glazing, but in the summer, if windows are open, there may be some traffic noise or occasional chitchat from customers downstairs. - This home is only suitable for adults, babies and children over the age of 12. - This home doesn't have air conditioning. Between june and september, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period. - There are stairs up to the entrance, and no elevator. - Please note we’ll check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.
